I've been experimenting with Meguirers Deep Crystal car wash on my other Zainoed cars. I still use the Z-7 on my Z though.

So far, it seems to work and has not removed or affected the Zaino on them. Based on the description on the label, it appears to be compatible with polishes like Zaino.

BTW, less than $4 for a 64oz of it at wally-world.

The new Meguiar's NXT wash is extremely nice. I love it.

Ive also heard great things about the NXT wash although Ive never tried it myself. I loved the P21S wash, although its pretty expensive and isn't available in most stores. I'd say give the NXT a try, most people are happy with it.

there are a numer of good washes...but stick to z7 cause the zaino system is best when you use only zaino products...(that comment came from people over at autopia.org..it was a similar thread to this)

ive been using the mcguires nxt wash, too.

zaino was way ahead of it's time when it came out, nothing else really compared to the shine it could give back in the day. now just about every 'name brand' wax is just as good, if not better, at a fraction of the cost.

If you are using Zaino products I would suggest sticking to Z-7.
I on the other hand have NXT products on my Z therefore started using the wash as well. By far one of the best wash I have ever used. It smells nice, very sudsy and it cleans very well. I've been very pleased with Megs Deep Crystal Wash for a while but since I was using the NXT stuff might as well switch.

I ran out of Z-7 a few months ago. Since then I've been using the Turtle Wax Gold Series car wash I found at Costco, about $6 for a 1.5 gallon jug. I think this bottle will last over a year.

So far I've noticed very little, if any, difference between it and the Z-7. It does not contain any wax additives and does not lift off the Zaino already on the car, and suds up very well. It's a nice cheap alternative to Z-7.

I'v efoudn that car washing results are much more influenced by the time of day and area (i.e in sunlight) and temperature than the type of wash. If it suds up nicely and won't strip your wax, go for it. Meguiars deep crystal is nice...suds up a lot, smells nice and isn't expensive.

I always use dawn. Best car wash ever
It takes off more dirt/bugs/tar than any actual 'car wash' soap I have used. (besides some industrial stuff)
But it takes off wax also. I wax every week so its not a prblem for me.

You REALLY shouldnt be washing with dawn very often. Its a pretty harsh soap and is only meant to be used one or maybe two times a year.

meh, its not as bad as people would lead you to believe.
Ive been in the detail industry for 5 years.
And i do some work with paint.
Dawn wont mess anything up.

My 87 with a four year old paint job (red) still shines like the day it was new.

sorry about the size.
