My car has FI and ran ric for awhile and has the black soot in the tail pipes. I read a long time ago about something that cleaned it right upo but can't remember what it was nor the correct key word combo for a search.

the rolled edges of my borla tips get black carbon marks all the time. you can use any wheel polish to clean them up. i currently use mothers wheel polish that i have around from the polished wheels on my other car. works like a champ. in between washes i just use quik detailing spray to keep up with it & my tips always look great....if your tips have been carboned up for a while it may take a bit of elbow greese & a couple applications, then it will be easy if you stay with it at least once per week......good luck!

All tips blacken up... just a lot of individual effort and some super "fisting" will keep those babies clean.

I do it a few times per week to keep the outside and inside clean.

12SECZ, are you trying to clean the outside & the rolled edges or the inside of the tip? the inside will be very hard the get clean but the rolled edges & outside shouldnt be that bad. i say try a cream wheel polish not a liquid spray & work it in. if thats too much effort for your liking you can try throttle body cleaner wich removes carbon build up very well. then you will need to clean the tips & polish them after wards.........i have never tried the flitz but i did hear it was a pretty good product when used with the buffing ball/drill attachment that comes with it in a kit. id be very surprised if the mothers polish didnt remove the carbon marks.........

I am trying to clean the blackened inside of the tips about 2 to 3 inches in, just the part that shows. The outside is fine.

ok, thats going to take some work........i only deal with the rolled edges back, not the inside. the flitz & ball/drill att. kit may work best for that task...............

Default Eagle 1 never dull

I think that is what it is called it comes in a little silver and black tin can. It does not come in the form of a polish it comes as what looks like fur but the polish has been combined with the stuff inside and you just pull the furry stuff out and wipe it onto the chrome part the compound will come out of the furry stuff and paste onto the part. You just buff it off after that and it works great. Really well on front grilles. I have a stillen diamond cut front grill and it was a pain when I tried using regular paste, but no more the application process is alot easier now and the chrome just sparkles.

Thers a few different types of that polishing wad stuff. The best is a kit that comes with a cleaner & sealer but used mostly on wheel surfaces is Wenol. Pretty amaizing from what I understand. Plus the sealer keeps the surface looking nice. Mabey with exhuasr tips the sealer might keep future cleanings easier..............

Let me know what you think. Is it better than other stuff or is there some other things that you have done which have yielded better results
