Default what wax to use (besides Zaino)?

I would like to know your opinion about other wax products out there besides Zaino. I am particularly looking for a wax-on/wax-off type of product. Thanks.

I am going to try Meguiar's tomorrow. Nobody around here sells Zaino and the Meguiar's stuff is readily available and should do good enough for me. I guess I'll see tomorrow.

I use Meguiar's Gold Class. It's a polymer wax. I might switch back to Meguiar's cleaner/wax in the red packaging. It's a carnauba wax.

I really can't tell the difference between all the waxes.

Michael.

I waxed mine today with Meguiar's Gold Class and it came out pretty well. Not sure if it has quite the reflectivity of the cars that were Zainoed, but it only took a couple hours. Didn't polish it because I couldn't find any though.

Take a look at Blackfire paint sealant and polish. I used that on my Redline Z, and the color is much more vibrant and rich. I was very pleased, to say the least .

Question

Is there any type of wax/sealant that prevents swirl marks in darker colored paint jobs (namely Black)?

The only thing that's stopping me from getting a Super Black Z is the chance of getting unremovable swirl marks in the paint.

Thanks for the help.

No wax is going tto prevent swirls marks. Only proper maintenance will (read my washing session).

Collinite is ok. Very durable, but not the best looking. Id rather just get a polymer sealant.

BTW, I have Blackfire topped with S100 wax, and it looked stunning (and thats comming from me) The silver just glows.

I am having a hard time finding Zymol or Collinite in Canada. However, I've found a supplier for Klasse, which seems to be less time consuming than Zaino and quite resilient. I need something durable to protect the paint in the winter.

Mothers is actually pretty good stuff. Probably on the level on Zaino. They certainly offer a full line of car care products! They're central offices are actually about 1/2 an hour from my work (they do lots of demonstrations for the local BMW club). They definitely have some nice results!

I've been using Meguiar's for quite some time now. Overall, I'm happy with the output it yields, but Meguiar's is well known for not lasting. You should get a good three months out of your coat of wax ... I've noticed that when I use Meguiar's, I need to wax my car after a month and a half or two months!

If you like waxing your car a lot, Meguiar's is a good choice. If you're into the super show shine, go with Zymol or Zaino or Mothers or one of the other hard-to-find, premium brands!

Mother is the best of the over the mass counter bunch (meguiars is just to comercial, interested in elling more products to more people) as they are true car guys.

You can find better things from good store such as properautocare.com and such, but they sell nice things.

Thumbs up

I use a product called Liquid Glass. I started using it on my Z32 300ZX when the Blue Coral Autofom products became unavailable in my area. I have used many products over the years and the Liquid Glass is excellent. A robust, good looking hard finish. I plan to use it on my 350Z as well. Recommended.

About $17/pint at Pep Boys in South Jersey.

Liquid Glass Enterprises, Inc.
P.O. Box 1170
Teaneck, NJ 07666

Active Ingredients listed as: Aliphatic hydrocarbons, amino polymers, UV sunscreen inhibitors.... Contains no silicones or waxes.

Default BlackFire for any color

BlackFire has a new formula that makes it slicker than the older formula. The new stuff looks and feels like carnaube, but is a liquid polymer, so gives great protection and lasts a long time.

I think the BlackFire was designed for darker colors, but it works great on my wife's white Infinite.

you should give this stuff a try. I've tried both the old and new, and the new is MUCH better. Use a microfiber towel to remove it. Terry doesn't work as well. I guess it really sticks to the surface better too.

I'm old school, I'm also old with a dirty mind

I like Pinnacle Souveran Wax. It maybe be pricey but well worth the shine.

Default ....

I recommend using Meguirar's products that are readily available at autozone or pep-boys for a very resonable price!!! .

1. Clay Magic Kit
2. Meguiars #7 polish in the beige plastic bottle
3. Followed by a layer or two of Meguiars #26 Yellow Wax (caranuba) very easy on and off
*Pick up some microfiber towels while you are there, they make a world of diffrence

-hopes this also gives you an alternative solution........Ricky
