Default Headlight Film...ugh...

I have been developing a light film on my headlights. I don't know whether to buff it with a glass polish or not, since it is plastic. What should I do?

ive never experienced what you're talking about, so i really don't know. but if it doesnt come off with normal washing, i would try a clay bar first and if that doesn't work, maybe a light wet sand

Use a plastic polsih, like plexus, Megs PlastX or Megs #10 and #17 combo.

Be careful. If the film is on the inside and you screw up the outside, Nissan probably will not replace it. I had a film on the inside of mine and they replace the housing with no questions asked.

claybar is not abrasive and would not remove oxidations or films like that. Claybars can only remove contaminants on top of a surface like rail dust, oversprays, etc. Use a plastic polish if the film is on the outside. Meguiars plastx works really well and its available on most auto parts store. Plexus would not remove the film but just hide it.
