Default 13.791 @ 102.95

Hey guys just got back from MIR and wanted to see if this is a good time. I ran a 13.791 @ 102.95 mph on all season tires. On my first run i totally spun tires like a madman and got a 15.9. Second i tried to take it easy on the launch and got a 14.1. The funny thing is that the 3rd race was a dail in thing where you put a time you think you're goina run and i had 14.0 on there because i didn't think i could beat that. So i lost but i'm still happy with the time. This is the second time i've been to the drag strip so i'm new to it. I also have a pic of the time slip if anyone can host it, i don't know how. Let me know what yall think

I would think you would run quicker given the mods.

Not bad though.

yea i definately think there's room for improvement but i'm a newbie to the track, on the first run my tire pressure was like 40 and they were like yea you need to lower that haha... hopefully i'll be goin a few times this year and get some more experience, i had a blast though and thought i did pretty good for a beginner.

any advice you guys have is welcome

Your times are ok, average for a Z owner without much track experience. Im assuming your 60ft's werent that great. Do you know what they were? Id say 2.1-2.2 60ft's. Next time try to lower the tire pressure to around 25 psi, and try a quick slip of the clutch at around 2500 rpm's, its netted my low 2.0 60ft's on every tire thats been on my Z.

How much of a diffrence can lowering tire pressure make....... I mean in tenths on your 60ft........ I only ask for an experienced answer.... I know how lowering pressure will affect your traction... I just dont have much 1/4 time.....

All highway.....=D

On a street car with street tires, lowering can actually hurt you. Your best bet is to keep stock air pressure, and do a quick burn out. Drive right through the water and do one.

I would be willing to bet your "intake" doesn't consist of JWT pop-charger Not a bad 60' (most bad times are because of the 60', like with an in-experienced driver), I would hope with that many mods I could be low 13's. My 60' times are 2.100-2.160 usually.

$350 snakes in front of radiators just don't compare, IMO. Screws up intake pulses on 350Z's.

Toss the spare tire, all carpets, cds and spare change. Also going in the right weather and stock rims will help out.

What was the sea level and wind barometer?
