buy the parts and take it to the track and find out!

no one here can guess what your 1/4 mile time will be. we dont even know what type of tranny you have, and if you had the same stock z and let 5 different forum members drive it - you'd get 5 different et's. not being an @ss, but this question has way too much gray area to speculate what your time could be. and not that it would help us answer the question, but depending on what type of i/h/e you went with, you would see different gains and times...

buy the parts, slap em on, and run it at the track - just make sure you get a couple stock runs in there first so you have something to compare the gains off of.

that would be a vertical drop 1/4 mile time... like if you throw if off a cliff 1/4 mile high .

no seriously, on street tires it won't happen

guys are trapping 106-107mph with simple bolt-on mods, all you need is a good heated up set of BFG DRs (yes, they ARE street tires) and a 1.7.1-86' and you'll be well into the 12s with traps like that .

He said "and any other mods"...so I added slicks and 150 shot of nitrous with CAI, headers, test pipes, exhaust, crank pulley, TB, upper plenum, etc.

Forget 12s...A well tuned 150-shot Z with slicks and supporting mods should be well into the 11s...

I'll never put DRs on my Z

what "normal" performance tires(beside DRs) would you reccomend?

I can't get bellow 2.3 with KDW (track conditions suck also)... pisses me off, coz I trap 105 mph and can barely get in the 13s

What altitude is the track at?

Toyo T1-S and Goodyear Eagle F1's are pretty good tires.

+1 on the Toyo T1-S's for straight line traction...those are going to be my next set of tires.

Track is at 100 feet above see level . Problem is there is not much choice in 275/40-18 tires. I was thinking about the S03s, Michelin PS2, Goodyear F1's or even kumho MX seems good. T1-S sidewall is too soft I heard... I also track the car on road courses on occasions.

because I run at dragstrip 2-3 times a year. Drag radials are a waste of money for me.

THey don't make the 555rII in anything close to fit my wheels.

Part of the reason that the T1-S is good in a straight line is because is does have a sligtly softer sidewall than others. In contrast...the S03s that I currently have on my car won't hook in a straight line AT ALL...they are a joke, but they are good in corners and in the rain.

You won't get everything in one tire...you have to decide which is more important to you...getting near 100% of the cornering ability out of your car or straight line traction.

+2 for the 555RII. It uses the a similar compound as Nitto's DR, but has stiffer sidewalls. You get the best of both worlds, straight line grip and cornering. Cheap to boot!
