Ran the Z for the first time
And man did i do awful lol.
First time ever with the Z at some crappy backwoods 1/8 mile track, i didnt think i could find a track worse than Bradenton, but damnit, i was proven wrong. It was for some ghey ricer car show but they had the 1/8th mile open at the park, i wasnt prepared to run but a few of my friends kept egging me on because none of them wanted to run their Z's, so i said **** it and got in line.
Sat in line for 2 hours and finally got to run, i thew the slip away but heres the stats
60 ft 2.55
1/8th 9.35
MPH 82
I launched waaaay too hard, i dropped the clutch at like 3500 cuz i got nervous, i spun all the way through 1st and most of second, i really should have dropped it around 2k.
I was happy with the mph because thats really high for the 8th so my car does have quite a bit of power, so thats good to know, i just need some practice!
Mods are:
JWT Intake
Kinetix Intake Plenum
Topspeed Headers
Stillen Test Pipes
Custom Y-pipe
NISMO LMGT4's with 275 Nitto 555's in the rear.
I ran with full interior includinge spare and jack, my bookback from class that day, and a 6 pack of bottled water in the trunk!
I did run one more time, i got a significantly better launch (2.3) but missed second and ran a 10.006

When you start spinning that bad in first gear, pedal it until you get traction and your time would improve. No use in spinning through 1-2-etc. All that MPH means is you were spinning really bad....it will increase your trap speed.

Futhermore...if you think that 275 tires are the end all to traction problems for a Z, you're sorely mistaken. I can spin the cr@p out of my 275/40-18 S-03s with very litte effort, no drop clutch launches required...I don't even run them on the drag strip because they would be useless.
