Default Irwindale Speedy 8.133 1/8th time....

So I finally made it out to the strip @ irwindale, and put down 8.133 on their 1/8th mile track, not bad for my first official drag run.

Working on getting onto a 1/4 track but I've heard various opinions about LACR not being a good track to run on, so I'll have to see about getting onto California Speedway, right?

Who's running where lately and what are the track conditions in Southern California?

I know it's not "drag" but I just came off Big Willow and got my time down to about 1:45, the car can do better but I under drove it due to the new setup, I'm looking forward to bring that down though.

Speed Ventures is running this weekend 2nd & 3rd for $170.00 if anyone's interested.

I was there yesterday, didn't see you there. I left early though because too many cars broke down and I didn't feel well.

Sign up for the next http://www.alternativemotoring.com/ on August 12th at Cali Speedway. It's a $100 total of 80 cars allowed so you get at least 15 to 30 runs if you want. My APS TT should be installed and ready to go by then. IgottaZ is running his Greddy TT as well...
It'll be fun

sorry I wasn't there yesterday, I actually made the runs I was talking about over a month ago, I most recently came off big willow on the 28th.

What are you running now? What times are you getting?

As far as the 12th goes, it's $100 to run 15-30 times? I suppose it's not bad if you actually RUN at least the min, 80 cars max sure helps though.

I had the same problem the day I as there with breakdowns, the worst was when some rear-end blew up. we were down for over 40 minutes, puts a huge damper on the experience.

I'm checking out the site, maybe i'll make it to So Cal Speedway Afterall.

Thanks for the info!

Joe

my best at Irwindale has been 8.9 stock but on slicks, I'm still getting used to rwd
I got there yesterday at 4:30 and by 8 pm I only had two runs....usually it would have been 5

the track event at Cali is great because you can run as often as you want and the crowd is different as well, since it costs a bit more you'll see less of the dingies that tend to show up on the street legals where you get maybe 4 runs...

you should definetely come

I wouldn't run street tires on California Speedway, its just a fustrating experience of wheelspin.

When I was at irwindale, I had little to no wheel spin with my enkei 19 x 10's

I had a ton of wheel spin when I had my RAYS, so I hope I'll be ok, I'm hoping Toyo will set me up with a set of RA-1's though.

I was just talking about this event with my friend and I'm thinking I'm going to run.

The more I thought about it, having the max of 80 cars, and getting in those rounds with less B.S. is sounding better all the time, seems like the best way to get in my 1st official quarters.

I'll let you know when I sign up for sure, where are you driving from? I'm here in San Fernando.
