Default Vortech SC quarter mile times?

just wondering what kind of numbers you guys are looking at with a straight out of the box setup with the vortech....i plan on just running the kit straight out of the box with a conervative tune and with a full exhaust.... just wondering if any of you are doing that and what type of hp numbers you guys are seeing and quarter mile times

Ive seen out of the box Vortech 333whp, 13.3 @ 109. Best time Ive seen out of a Vortech with about 370-380whp was 12.8 or 12.9 @ 112- kinda weak if you ask me. Fastest time Ive seen out of a Procharger, was actually an auto with "only" 360whp on street tires he ran a 12.2 @ 113, no tranny work.

When you say out of the box vortech do you mean that no other mods have been done to the car? I.E. Headers, plenum, exhaust, hfc's or tp's

Its really shameful for most of the S/C guys that the auto guys run much faster than them lol. Jeremy that is very close to the stock ATI set-up I knew here in MD/VA...

Hopefully when the track opens here. I can get in some good runs and put the 6spd cars back in the game with the s/c times. LOL

yeah i've heard that supercharger's are actually well suited for AT's because the gears are longer and you have more time in the higher rpm's of each gear where the HP is. any truth to that?

I'm making 355 HP with the ATI procharger at 7 psi of boost, will have to see what I can do when the track opens in March. I'm guessing 12.7 or so, which is disappointing. If I could go back in time, I would have installed the turbonetics single turbo kit which would have cost about the same. Alberto was making 400 hp or so with that kit and when I was at capitol last year I saw him go 11.90's. Huge difference with turbos

The 3.35 gears in the auto vs the 3.55 6spd. The taller gear is suited for FI.

I would love to be able to run mid 12's with a vortech and still have that reliability factor

Well I am headed to the track this week, so we'll see. First runs down the 1/4 since the blower.

which ATI setup. I didn't know there were many in MD, most people I know are turbo. Anyway, I hope to be around 12.3 once I work on my launches. hopefully once it warms up it won't be a problem.

hmm mid to high 12's is dissapointing for a supercharged car. I am worried about the reliability factor with the turbonetics single though.
