Default First time at the drag strip...

I decided to see what she had last night. Keep in mind that I've never raced at the drag strip before. The results were quite humbling...

1st run
60' 2.311
1/4 15.279 @ 95.97 MPH
I slipped the clutch and still spun through third gear. Needed a better burn out.

2nd run
60' 2.271
1/4 14.619 @ 97.46 MPH
OK launch. Still spun tires through third gear.

3rd run
60' 2.176
1/4 14.346 @ 97.94 MPH
Great launch. Spun tires through second gear.

4th run
60' 2.334
1/4 14.866 @ 96.46 MPH
Launch sucked big time. Still spinning tires though.

5th run
60' 2.393
1/4 15.422 @ 97.02
Figured I'd give it a shot with traction control on since I've been spinning the tires each time. Guess I won't try that again.

Overall I guess I did OK. I need to practice launches a lot more and need to figure out how to get some traction. I am still running the OEM bicycle tires in the rear. Opinions/ideas? Be easy on the newb.

I could get a better picture if I saw some time slips.

I'm scanning in some slips right now. I'm launching at about 2000-2200 rpm slipping the clutch.

I can tell you right now before I see the timeslips, I know you need to work on your shifting speed. You say you spun the tires in 2nd gear, it couldn't have been like your popping the clutch to do a burn out. I can tell you right now with my 275's in the rear I chirp the tires in 2nd and 3rd gear. With a 2.1 60ft you should be in the high 13's in the 1/4 seriously.

Yeah I was right about your shifting speed needs to be faster. Your 2.1 60ft is good for your first time there but when you hit the 1/8 you should've been around 8.9-9.1 and hitting the 1/4 in the high 13's. If you keep pulling 60ft like that and get your shifting speed up to speed you'll definitely be right where you should be far as your times are concern. Good Luck next time!

Thanks for the time slips and I agree. You're picking up 19 mph in last 660 feet which shows your shifting technique. 2.0 60-foot times and better than 14.0 ET just takes practice. You're on you way.

hey someone that didnt break 13's haha atleast you pulled off a 2.1 60 ft, the best i could bust was a 2.2 but if you get your shifted right, you can pull off a 14.1 @ 99 like i did if not 13's
