RobertH pulled a 1.9 60' last night too and ran a 13.6.
Sucks that his clutch died last night though.

My first race was DaveZ#3
We both said we need practice launching hehe.

Great time last night. Just wish that guy wouldnt' have touched my car and made my car smell like clutch all the way home. I let a "domestic" driver drive my car and he apparently says my (new 05 w/12k miles) car has a "bad clutch already". Reason he gave was becuase it didn't throw him back in the seat between shifts...no joke.

Thats why you dont let idiots rag your car. So did you run that time or did he? Did he drop any time off of yours?

He actually ran on par with me...that is my best offering as of yet. My car is completely stock...even the original potenzas which cannot hook for crap. His 60' was 2.3 as well. My best 60' of all night was a 2.224 but something must have gone wrong there...my MPH was 98.34 on that pass but my time was 14.777. I spent the afternoon watching the slowz video that you have up and man...my shifting just looks plain ugly compared to yours.

Dont get down man. You just need seat time. Dont let others drive your car, just keep practicing. Use the leg speed tips I gave "defex" and just work on hitting gears faster. Use my video if it helps you any. You will get better....

Edit: wasn't there some kind of fix someone came up with a while back? To where you can make it only go as far as it needs to in order to disengage and you wouldnt be pushing it farther than neccessary? That would be WONDERFUL!
yeah the clutch drives me nuts!

i get shin splints driving around in the z for too long.

I love the mustang clutch position

Me too! That's what I learned to drive a manual on. That's what I learned to race on..powershift on.. everything. The shifter sucked, but the clutch was PERFECT!

I found the thread on how to change the height, so I'll probably adjust it this weekend and you can bet the next time I hit the track I'll do better without this insane high step bs.

I'll be back out there after the first of the year. Now that the initial "newbie jitters" are out the way, maybe I can concentrating on getting a good launch going.

I had a blast with you guys. Hope to see ya'll out there again. Hope ya'll come give AutoX a try.

Yeah, after watching him shifting I feel slow. I'll see if I can speed it up a little hehe.

BTW, I ran Derek in his Integra last night and seriously slaughtered him and I think one run he sprayed. I'll tell you about it...

Edit:
I'll try to give autocrossing a shot sometime. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to the one coming up though. Definitely up for it in 06

i want to see what you can do on nittos with your launch technique and track's stickiness

the DRs are badass and well worth the investment. are your 18 inch wheels heavier than your stock ones, look for some that arent, heavy 18s could stick you back in the 14s.

just try to trim weight, some ways are a light weight battery, take your spare and jack out, empty all of your winndshield wiper fluid, run 1/8-1/4 tank of gas, and the seat out if you feel like it.

Dave = the autocross beast. I've seen his stock tires after running autocross and they are pretty gnarled. Greg, btw...my cousin managed to ruin his torque converter on his 13 second truck...pretty funny considering they were the ones telling me my clutch was gone.
