Unhappy TT G goes SLOW down the 1/8th....help?

Ok, so my best run was I guess an 8.9 @ 87.3 mph (first run of the nite) with a 60 foot time of 2.343 and 330 @ 6.028. I also had other times of 8.8 and 9.0 @ 85 mph
My question is pretty simple considering I have:
406 rwhp @ 9 psi.
How the hell do I end up running the same 1/8 as stock/lightly modded 350's?
I know my trap speed is slightly higher but my car also has about 150 more hp than stock/lightly modded 350's/g35's. I know my 60 foot time wasn't great but even if I got it down to a 2.1 or 2.0, it wouldn't make that much of a difference. I'd still be in the mid 8's at BEST.
My friend with an 02' SS (headers, exhaust 330rwhp) ran faster than me all the times and trapped 84mph.
Again, I know my launch isn't great but even so, shouldn't I be able to pull away very easily? Any suggestions? I'm hoping someone says my stock clutch is going out or something, lol.

2.3 60ft is bad for a stock Z/G. You must be losing traction badly.

The first run at 8.9 @ 87.2 I only spun at the end of 1st for a little bit then I shifted into 2nd to stop the spinning. I also hit the rev limiter for a split second when I was about to shift into 3rd.
I did hit a 2.0 60' but the 330 was still only 5.636.....
All the other runs @ 8.8, 9.0 @ 85 mph I didn't had minimal wheel spin off the line but I didn't launch too hard either because I was scared to get too much wheel spin. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me how my friend ran better times and trapped only slighly slower than me.
We also did a highway run (he downshifted and took off on me and pulled about 2 cars before I could react and downshift as well) and I was barely about to start pulling in 5th gear. We went from 65-over 110.....
I don't understand how my car puts down about 80 more hp and can't catch up to his....
Also, the clutch doesn't feel like it's slipping. I shifted at almost redline through all the gears too except for the first run when I was spinning at the end of 1st.

You are losing something somewhere. if it was your clutch you would smell it.
maybe you are losing more traction than you realize. Hitting the rev limiter would account for some loss of speed.

Results sound about right to me...

8.7 off a 2.3 60 ft means that with a 2.0 60 ft youd be in the 8.3 range...

8.3 in the 1/8 is EASILY good for 12.6-12.9

A SS camaro with long tubes and 330 rwhp is a high 12 second car at 110 mph...

g35's run around 14.2 bone stock on average....

it seems like you now have a 12.6-12.9 car ( on street tires). Thats a 1.4-1.6second improvement over stock....Thats doing VERY GOOD..

seriously what did you expect..ELEVENS????

get the 60 ft down to 2.0 and watch dose 8.2's-8.4's appear on the slip..

BTW..87 mph for a TT G35 and 84 mph for a 330 rwhp SS camaro both seem on the low side..

Your track is eighter at a high altitude or a bad DA.

I expected to be close/more than 90 mph as far as trap speeds. I didn't expect him to be able to stay that close with me. The rest of the runs I only hit 1 mph faster getting 100rpm within redline. That's why I'm kinda mad. 330rwhp compared to 406...and I can only trap 1 mph faster? He also had minor wheel spin but he managed to get 84 on his good runs. I know I'm not an awesome driver but damn.
I've always felt that the turbo kit has no torque down low whatsoever compared to NA. It feels like it takes forever to get it going.
I'm pissed to say the least for spending so much money on it.

it is pretty slow for what you have done, probably cause its a heavy *** G

ditch some weight outta it and see what you run, also you are definently losing some traction somewhere with those numbers...

I don't have my slips here, but I have one of a friend that has a stock supercharged buick. 8 years old or so.
60' 2.090
330' 5.838
1/8 9.000
77.40 mph
At 9.0 you hit 85mph so obviously you are starting to pull then.
Either you have major turbo lag or you are losing traction. From what I remember a stock G would put down a better 60' than you are doing now.

^exactly my point. To be honest with you, the lag seems to be very evident. I just posted another topic you can see it here.
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....=1#post2232736

It feels laggy until I get higher up in the rpms. Even more so than when I was NA and modded.
I know it's not a V8 or a V8 with a supercharger or something but damn I can't even break lose in any gear even downshifting.

its cause with a turbo you wont build any boost unless you are under load. so get some line locks and pull up to the line and lock them

you will be able to build some boost and get rid of some of that lag

The actual times slips are easier to study but..

Your 60-foot times are killing your ET. As much as I hate to guess at ifs, if you ran 2.0 60-foot times, you may be able to get your ET down to 8.4 seconds.

It kinda sucks since my friend can run 8.4's all day in his SS which just has headers/exhaust and everything else is completely stock and at least 70 less less hp than me. (and he also drives his car once a month IF that)

He has less rwhp than you but the way your cars make power is totaly differrent..

The LS1 has 375 pound feet tourque bone stock...They dyno around 320 rwt bone stock..They red line at only 6,000 rpm's..

meaning that the second he puts his foot down he's getting all 330 rwhp and 3xx rwt to the ground..

Your car is gonna take a little longer to make the power cas there no replacement for displacement ( although a propery done turbo can come really close)

Im sure that if you had a roll race with him and built up your rpm's before the third beep so that you were already in your boost before hitting it that it would be a close race with you winning deciseivly after about 100 mph..

personaly Id be happy that your atleaste trapping higher than him by quite a bit.. AND remember most turbo set ups shine on the last 1/8..Not the first 1/8

There have really been stock camaros that have ran 12.9 at 109 mph. Defiently no were near the norm..But for all you know his could be one of these freakish ones?????

yeah being able to use the power is just as important is having the power. Without traction or decent driving, any monster hp car can suck going down the strip

Ya I know I need to work on my launching. It sucks taht when I had a good launch @ 2.0' 60 foot I misshifted. Also his car put down 325rwhp stock and the headers n exhaust only gave him 5 hp. (he also has the SLP package n what not). And lastly I know I suck at launching but I figured I'd get a little bit better trap speed.
