Default 1st time at the drag with the Z

Got 11 runs in. Best two runs of the night, one with best 1/4 time, one with max trap speed. I know, I need to work on my 60ft a lot Can you give critique/comments on my times, especially trap speeds? It seems 102.79 was pretty good? Thanks.

I am impressed with 102.7 MPH especially with a 2.4 second 60-foot time. Good air helps. A little practice on your staging pad technique and you will be running better than 13.9 seconds. Nice driving.

Thank you. The 102.7 was suprising to me as well. What I could not get down for the life of me was 1st gear. I would always get wheel hop or bog in first. I had tires (Goodyear F1's) down to 25psi. Should I feather all 1st? Unfortunately, I don't recall how I got the 2.2 60ft time on the previous run since it had been my 2nd run of the night. I was really hoping to break into the 13.xx. Oh well...

No one uses the same technique for every run. Traction conditions vary from one day to the next, and throughout the evening. You have got to hit the gas hard in first gear for a 2.0 60-foot time. Practice makes perfect.

Those are really good trap speeds. Your 60' obviously needs improvement and with that you will have no problem running high 13's!

On the lauch, try slipping it out at about 2.5k to 3k, just so that you can get on the gas WOT quicker. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. I will try feathering a bit more and then gun it through first. We'll see next time. Good times nonetheless.
