Default First time at the track.....results

It was my first time at the 1/4 mile track today...

My mods: Injen intake, AAM Spacer, Nismo catback

I'll admit I suck at driving and need practice:

R/T - .042
60' - 2.5
330 - 6.4
1/8 - 9.5
^Mph- 79
1000 - 12.2
1/4 - 14.5
MPH - 100.3

Any suggestions to how I can improve? My rear tire pressure was 32 psi, should I lower it more?

I think you already know that your 60-foot time is killing your ET.

The temperature was 53 degrees today in MD, and I ran a little lower than usual: 25 PSI.

2.5 60 ft is really bad, that's what I'd try to fix first

Hey Mid...At least you didnt stink up the joint like I did with a 96mph ...Like everyone said the 60ft is killing you just like it did me. But mine was due to the 20" anchors....I was figuring that you'd hit at least a 104mph or more...Im deffinately down for us hitting the track hard next year as long as I have the time...Its a little different for me coming from fwd to rwd...Next year Ill have my lightweight rims fro the track...

The OEM tires are good for 2.0 seconds. Guaranteed.

Yeah Mid I was disappointed on my time of 14.0 @100 with a bad 2.15 60ft. I have Injen exhaust, motordyne 5/16 spacer. With new Good Yr F1 GS-D3. I think I had too much air 34psi. With a 1/2 tank of gas.

Hey Mid, how are you launching youre car? Its obvious that you are spinning really bad. You shouldve tried even slowly launching off the line.
Man, why are all your tracks still open. This sucks, the nearest track to me closed about a month ago already. I wish a track near me was open, then cold weather is awesome.

Actually, yesterday was the last day of the season, so they're closed now.

At first, I launched at 3000 RPM, I spun really bad through 1st and 2nd.(I'm not even going to mention the time its that horrible)

Then the other time, I launched at around 2000 RPM's, the tires hooked, but the RPM's died down, losing my holeshot, so next time I'm going to launch at around 2300 RPM's.

Sounds about right though. If you try to launch above 3k and while still feathering the clutch go above 3k, you are not having a good launch and your clutch is probably gonna be pretty pissed off at you by then. It seems you need to hold it at about 2.5k -2.8k off the line until it catches then punch it. This being on street tires of course. I would love to try to launch my car on some good BFG's or street drags of such.

I was getting all excited about your tracks being open because I was ready to make a 4 hour drive to go and race down there. I live in Southeastern Massachusetts. I am dying to go to the track with my car.

the potenzas actually hook really well if you drive on them correctly.

just try to find that fine line between spinning and bogging, its probably not as much gas as you would think.

dont do any abrupt movements, just ride it out smooth...

I will shoot for around 2300-2500 rpm's next time, and feather out the clutch...maybe that'll work?
