Haha thanks. I'm trying to get a group of guys to go to the 1/4 track with me. The closest one is about two hours away and I don't really wanna go alone lol. But hopefully within the next two weeks!

 

MM'08 that's a damn good 60' , looks like you need to really only work on shifting above all else . considering how much power your car puts down you should easily be in 12s as well. Go again just shift like a mad man lol try not to lift in at least 2-3 and 3-4 , 1-2 takes some getting used to, I never even no lift shift 1-2 ........or 2-3 for that matter my freakin transmission is a cockblock.

 

Thanx, and yea I'm really hesitant when it comes to shifting into 2nd all other gears are perfect. I haven't gone to the track in quite some time so with new mods and new tires should be a bit better. For instance my new RJM clutch peddle mod rev shift mounts and 80A tranny mount, new suspension. I think I'll do pretty well next time I visit the track.

 

slicks? do you have upgraded slave? I went to the track on ET st radials and my slave hated me (wouldnt come back up on launch) so I just sold the tires cause it didnt work well with my car.

 

these arent the et street radials. just the et streets. idk exactly but there is a difference. im on stock clutch/flywheel/slave.

 

looks like a 12.x run to me, i have a few similar slips that resulted in a 12.8 run.

 

im gonna try no lift shifting as well at the 1/4 mile. the 8.3 was just regular foot off the gas shifting. just tried the whole "no lift" thing for the first time ever on the ride home and it wasnt too bad from 2-3 and 3-4. 1-2 said hell no though lol.

 

I must have been doing something wrong because my clutch would stick on Every launch. Idk the difference either I just got mine for almost free so that's why I tried them.

Stock 2007 G35 Sport vq35hr 5-speed auto 4 door grocery getter, 13.6 @ 102 mph.

Weighed 3605 lbs with bunch of random crap in it and 1/4 tank of gas.

115,000 miles. Not had a tuneup yet(on original spark plugs, don't have a misfire.... yet!).
On shitty rock hard $90 Primewell PZ900 245/40R18 rear tires and crap 2.1-2.3 60 foots.

Shooting for 13.3-13.5(cutting 1.9-2.0 60 foot hopefully) @ 103ish mph(102.78! Close!) when I get some new $$$ summer tires or Drag Radials and a tuneup!

My launch technique is VDC off, leave in DS. Powerbrake to 1750-2000 rpm and roll into the throttle, leave it in DS and flick the left paddle shifter at 80-90 mph and hold 3rd gear to redline! Hits it right as I pass the 1/4 mile marker! Anyone know the top speed for 3rd in vq35hr 5at 350z? I have same trans as you guys!

It's just 150 direct port. Just backed it up with a 11.34

 

Nice!! That's what 7k launches do for you on slicks. I got there too late to see you run. Why was that momentum turbo Z running 14's wasn't even worth my N2O when we lined up.

 

The fastest I have seen a momentum kit run is a 12.6 I'm not real impressed by those kits.

 

Got the car apart today. From where the release bearing locked up at the track. And how much movement is the stock flywheel supposed to have with that dual mass bs??



And the f1 stage 3 still had a lil life left in it. After 17k miles and probably 250 1/4 mile passes.

Tried to make a few passes tonight Blew the tires in first. Best 60 I could manage was a 1.68. Not sure if poor track prep or car don't like the new flywheel
