Went to the drag strip yesterday.

Managed to beat my previous record considerably:

23. wizard -----------------03 Enth 6spd ----Vortech 13.325@106.92mph 2.059 60ft Verified street

_________

Here is the timeslip (last run is the fastest):

____

New best time is: 12.93 @ 111.27mph 2.1775 60ft (street tyres).

Car definitely has more to go. Atleast mid 12s on current setup with full weight and the complete ICE setup. Will update when I get a chance to re-run again.

Please can one of the mods update first page with results.

Not a record or anything. But I bought a set of tires to mount on my spare rear drag wheels. So I figured I'd drive it to the track tonight and play a bit. Was super surprised with the results. The humidity was like 80% the DA was like 1341.

Just launched easy then jumped on it

The tires were 235/60-15 bfg g force drag radials. Got them super cheap for $113 each. The trip to the track takes about a hour from my house. So the car was good and hot. Like I said I'm very very very surprised with tonight's results.

Nice hook for such a small radial! Holds the bottle no problem through 1st?

2bad240- Are you having any issues hooking? I ran a 275 wide tire and was able to hit 1.4 60' with nitrous on a stock suspension so it is doable without a massive tire. I would love to see you continue dropping your time!

Well I took my 2003 350z to the track this past weekend. It was my 2nd time taking something down the track and only my 1st time driving a MT down the track. Im not sure if the picture will upload so if it doesnt here is the outcome:
60': 2.382
1/4 mile: 14.249
Trap Speed: 101.07 mph

I ended up making about 4 passes and everytime i was fighting for traction like crazy. The best 60' I got was a 2.2xx and ended up getting a 14.3.

Only performance mod on my Z is an Injen intake

I know the feeling. I took my Z to the track for the first time last week and the best time I could muster was a 14.35 with a 60' of 2.289. I found it very difficult to get traction all the way thru third on street tires. The track I went to is known for being slow and I'm inexperienced but still. My mods are Mrev2 + spacer, Megan y pipe, Megan single.

I wasnt disappointed with a 14.2 in a z with only an intake but I can only imagine how much better it could be simply with traction.
The best I could do was launching at 2000 rpm and half throttle all the way through first and second

I also launched at 2k rpms. I was pretty disappointed with a 14.35 my first time but it is a good starting point I guess. I definitely want between 14.1 - 13.9 next time. I know my car can do 13.5 on a good track on a good day with a really good driver.

When you guyss launch don't punch the throttle soon as you let the clutch out, let it catch traction first or else if you punch it when spinning its gonna keep spinning

I leave off 6k no matter what set of tires I'm on. Just leave with the rpms up and find the perfect amount of feathering of clutch and throttle you need to do.

I don't leave that high I leave between 3500 & 4k. I can pull 2.0 60' on a crappy Kumho All season tire with an open diff.

Juan,

Very, Very Good for only your second time at the Drags. Car runs well. Nice MPH.

This should put you in 6th position, I think.

what size tire did you end up going with?

Way to go,

TimRod

Thanks Tim! I went with M/T ET Street Radial II 265/40/18. Love these tires. Only need a few revolutions to warm up. They are amazing on the street too. Not that I will ever use them. But they feel good driving around in!
