Its an interesting situation: a Base with an aftermarket LSD. Not sure if you will be considered “stock.”

 

I again interject, unless my GT wheels with factory potenzas will still qualify as stock - he isn't either.

I gain 0 from the tire/wheel swap just like in theory he should gain nothing from that LSD (especially over say my car) but that doesn't change the current system....not that I'm apposed to changing them.

 

I'm surprised this didn't come up before. Nismo parts installed by the dealer, stock or not? If no, brand new Nismo Z with zero mods can't be on the stock list. If yes, base cars with Nismo cams, intakes, and exhaust can make it onto the stock list. An interesting situation indeed.

 

Wrong. 2007 NISMO 350Z is a stock car bought straight from Nissan the way it comes. It has no performance mods it is all suspension and cosmetic.

The original V1/V2 NISMO Z was mods done by the dealer itself. Nissan didn't bring cars to the US that had them. Those cars are not stock.

 

Exactly, just like a Mustang can be bought with 4.10 gears factory and be considered stock, and the guys who install them after buying them aren't stock.

Again, same as me having wheels from a different model Z, car didn't come with them.

 

Suspension mods aren't for performance? Anyway, IMO, If you bought a Nismo Z from a dealer and haven't touched it since I think you have a strong case for saying your Z is completely stock. Regardless of what year it is. Even if you have an R-tune or S-tune. If you bought it that way, its stock. That's like saying you can't have a stock Roush because they didn't build it that way at the factory. But I digress, I really don't care what qualifiers put you onto what list. People should just concern themselves with making it onto a list.

 

True. The list states the "model." As an example you cannot make a Enthusiast a Touring by adding VDC and 18 inch wheels. It will always be a modified Enthusiast.

 

Agree. I would like to see it in the stock category for comparison purposes.

The car is running soooo good, and I am too busy for a trip to the track.

It feels faster now than it did when I ran over 107 mph. High 12's, soon.

Stock HR's, get to the track!

 

It loves the flywheel too. I wanna make 12's with just the flywheel but the temps are going to suck when I get the clutch broken in.
