We discussed getting a replacement mod for the motorsports section after John (previous motorsports mod turned super mod) stepped down, but agreed that it wasn't necessary. I, along with a couple of other mods, mentioned Todd, so don't think he's gone unnoticed all this time. If we ever decide to change our mind about having another motorsports mod, I will strongly recommend Todd again - trust me on that one.

So there is hope after all Its going on 6 years that i have been a member of this site.. I remember the man who created this forum ( Jmanz ) oh, those were the days LOL.

Well, thanks for updating the list. And if things ever change were i can update it again, that would make me very happy.

I don't see why not. There are several G35s in various classes.

ok, thank you. I haven't actually gone yet due to how hot it already is, but I do plan to take it this fall/winter to hrp in baytown, tx. I have no idea what it might run, just know it's an aweful lot of fun trying to find out!

Why not go to TX Motorplex at Ennis instead of HRP, since you're in DFW? Unless you're going to HRP because it's a faster track and you really want the .1-.2 sec faster ET, I'm not sure why you're driving 3+ more hours each way to get to a track.

mainly because I'm looking for those .1-.2 and hrp is indeed faster (better/more consitent box prep IMO and obviously it's only 16 feet above sea level - ennis is about 600 feet - I'll take all the DA advantage I can muster).

but also because the two times I have gone to ennis, I've had nothing but hastles out there. Very poor lane manipulation always letting the motorcycles get run after run after run while lanes of cars never move. Baffling. And then to top it off I was "booted" for running 11.5+ in my showroom stock C6Z and had to argue with the "tech" crew that the NHRA rule was now sub 11.50 for a roll bar and they had no grounds to boot me. Took about 30 minutes and another track official to come by and concede I was indeed correct - but by that time, I had a horrible taste in my mouth.... rolled on home vowing never to go back. and i haven't

Yeah, that's what I thought. I've seen and heard good things about drag racing there (better DA and track prep, which equates to noticeably better ET), so I've contemplated making a trip to that strip. I couldn't justify the long hours of driving to and then from the track just to drag race. I like drag racing, but I'm not going to spend that much time and money for some numbers printed on a piece of paper. Plus, my current PB isn't too shabby.

2007 Enthusiast 6 speed bone stock stock tires. 13.476. It took place at milan dragway Milan Michigan. It was 75 out. I am hoping to break into the 13.2's next week. Just wondering but how does pat bateman run a time like that? Did he get that at atco, not trying to be an *** just wondering though?

Better than perfect conditions. To get the 13.2 you're gonna need 70's good barometric, great grip and a 1.9 60'.

If I'd ever gotten low 60's or better I think I could have easily run the same time.

The flywheel adds a lot to my 1/8th mile speed, but the track was slick and the clutch was giving me fits (driver not hardware) so I wasn't able to best a 1.99 60' which in 88 degrees turned into a 13.35 @ 104.7 (or so IIRC).

That trap was VERY high for the weather - ie flywheel is a good mod to help.

Also a note, high RPM launch ~ 5000 is about optimal for the stock setup.

The Z is picking up 20.3 MPH is the second 660 feet. I see room for another 2 MPH with a better density altitude.

I am taking the car to norwalk and launching it at 4 grand or 5 I think. It is one of the stickiest tracks around. I am hoping to go on a nice cool night. We had a storm roll in right after I made my last pass. So we had nice dense air.

err....Storms bring cool air, but are drawn by areas of low pressure. If you have the barometric pressure, temp, and altitude you can get the density altitude for a comparison number.

The best air I've ever ran in was about 800+ for a DA, the runs that Veetec and Pat Bateman ran in were pretty negative, Pat's was below -1500 IIRC.

10 degrees produces about a .1 second gain for me, so I figure 65 I'd be pretty close to Pat's time, grip starts to give up below about 65 or 70 though so its a wash after that (higher trap but higher 60' as well).

Like i said I am hoping norwalk makes me hook super hard and go. It is probably one of the stickiest tracks. My friends car burned there and when we ran out to him my shoe came off but that was also a vans skate shoe that was just laced untied lol.

oh no, I would never make a round trip in one day strictly for drag racing! I have many friends and family in Houston I visit and plenty of places to stay overnight. Someone usually gets tagged as designated video producer - constructive use for an otherwise good for nothing brother-in-law

Ah, I see. Let me know when you go to HRP (the other locals don't even want to drive to Ennis, so Baytown's a stretch). I may try to make it down also. Good run with the Z06. You could've launched a bit more aggressive though, I think (but you've gotten a better time than the run in the vid anyway so it may be a moot point).
