Default Vortech "G" -VS- 3000GT VR4... II The Results

(all speeds simulated)

Ok, so we went from a dig and I knew he would have the acvantage, and he did...

This guy can launch pretty damn good too... So we had a chase car do the 3 honk right behind us...

1st run he jumps the start and took me by a car length.

2nd run, he takes me off the line pretty good and had a 1 1/2 car jump on me by the middle of 2nd, by 3rd I started to reel him in and in 4th I was right at his back 1/4 panel and he shuts it down at 120 ish... I was like WTF you shut her down as I was pullin you in, he said he was gettn sketchy at that speed... I told him on the next run not to shut her down until at least 140ish and he agrees...

3rd run, I get a frickn good start right at the 3rd honk and he boggs it missn a shift and shuts it down so I slow up and we line up again...

Ok, so now we both get a great start and he has me off the line (of course). This time he has me just by about a car and I stay right on his ****... I hit the rev limiter from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd which gave me a hick up... I do not shift in MM as I have found the Auto to work well... (I need to get the VB upgrade now)... Ok so he picks up 1/4 more on me cuz of that and in the middle of 3rd I start to pull him in again... As I hit 4th I am on his back 1/4 panel again and pass him right at about 125 at 140 when we shut it down I had 2 to 3 cars on him... When I reeled him in and finally passed him I went by him pretty quickly. Got a Video floating around somewhere I will try and track down.

Was a frickn GOOOOD match up and we had a great time... I hit 9.2 PSI and he was hittn 14.5 with his new boost controller and TT... He also has down pipes and an intake which I found out tonight...

Time for me to get a 2.8 pulley and see what happens (I am running a 3.12 now)

Went the track after that and ran a 13.395 @ 105 w/ a 2.1 60...

I got to get to the track more, it was my 1st time out there so my reaction time sucks.... LOL.... I ran against a fully built Talon which ran a 12.283 @ 113... He was fast and had a reaction time of .010 to my .3

My best reaction time of the night was .185 but ran a 13.598 on that run do to spinning pretty good on my launch.

P.S. the 3000GT VR4 ran a 12.8 last night at the track so yeah, he is pretty darn quick

I do not know to much about the 1/4 as it was my 1st time.... Is a 13.3 a decent time???

Thanks, I am happy overall

Very nice! Good runs. Surprised you didn't pull on him harder.

I'm not surprised actually, after talking to him he is putting down nearly what I am putting down and he is AWD so it just took me a bit to reel him in... Keep in mind I am an AUTO as well.

Nice runs! He is probably trapping pretty close to you, maybe even the same, the VR4 slows down at the high speeds, but as you found it is fast as hell in the first few gears, especially from a launch....You shoulda ran from a roll, that would have shown how fast he is without a launch, either way nice races, and you should be happy with a 13.3 for your first time out, you'll find out what you need to improve on with more practice, a new pulley will help too haha.

Thanks!

I think I am now addicted to the 1/4 after last night and will be going out there more often... I am even considering putting my Crawford Plenum back on and ditching the Blingy TQ robbing SSV...

One question about running the 1/4 on street tires (Toyo T1R's) Should I do a burn out or avoid the water altogether before staging? I was doing burnouts all last night before my staging and was told that on streets you should not burn em....

nice runs and good kill man But Im just trying to understand why your trap speed is sooooo low for a sc car? Its only 2-3mph more than a stock Z...Aint worride bout the 13.5 it will get much better with practice..that mph makes me wonder...Did you let off/misshift?

Triji,

I think I've asked you before, but what kind of power are you putting down?

Great story, thanks for sharing!

SnakeBitten

I floored it thru the gates actually... I am in an Auto, and I do have quite a bit of Audio in my trunk 2 subs (10w6v2's) 2 amps (1000/1 & 450/4) a 10.5 and a 21" monitor and a trunklid that weighs ALOT... I might end up getting a CF trunklid for the track... but I cant do much about the other weight... I would guess about an extra 300 lbs or so in the stereo... That might have something to do with the trap speeds? ....

dimebagdolf....

The last time I dyno'd on a Dyno Dynamics I hit 380rwhp which from what I understand would be around 410 or so on a dyno jet... I am going to get larger injectors, 550's. A VB upgrade from Sharif, and a smaller pulley, 2.8 from that Co. that makes the non-slip design for the Vortech and see what that does for me. I am also using the SS box and am contemplating getting a UTEC... Could I use the UTEC if I decide to go APS TT Extreme in the future?

Thanks!
