Since then I have added uo crank pulley, custom 10.5 trackrims with 295 35 r18 firehawk tires, spl differential bushings, and strup headers. I know that the car is not running as effecient as it can the utec is on the way. this weekend i ran 13.6 at 99. My trap speed has never been over 100 since i've had the car. Has anyone elses car been like this? It a 2005 touring 6sp with 34000 miles. the car weighed 3350 with 1/5 tank of gas and me in it. I'm wondering if maybe the clutch is starting to let go or maybe the car needs a tune very bad. Any imput will be appreciated. oh yeah my friend has a 2003 with same mods as me but no headers and he ran 14 something at 101. on the same night
Thanks
Thanks
shifting at 6800 rpms on an 05 touring, which is not a rev up model?
How? Did you change the redline?
Try to shift at 6000rpms, I guess.
I think the first time I ran my car I ran 14.1@97.8 or something like that and I also saw about 19mph gain in the backhalf.
Then I went back almost a year later and ran 14.0@100.1mph and saw like 22mph in the backhalf.
Both times the car was bone *** stock.
I can't explain it, but maybe the engine was pulling timing on one of those nights. Heat soak might have been a factor too.

you going to e-town tomorrow? let's do some runs, I got the '06
/sorry for thread hijack, back to normal posting.
I mess up i meant 5800. I have the shift light set there but i probally shift closer to 6000 6100 I had just put on the headers and the car seemed strong before that but that night it just didn't feel like it was pulling. I'm wondering if the computer was doing something weird. The car is running fat I think I know that it is putting sut on the back bumper by the exhaust. In my experience with the internal combustion engine that means it running fat. Fat( too much fuel) Well i guess we will see in a couple of weeks when i have the utec put on and tuned at sgp. I'll try to post the video this weekend.
That may be your problem right there. Shifting that early will hurt you, particularly by shifting to 4th so early.
I'm surprised you're trapping almost 81mph in the 1/8 by short shifting 2nd and 3rd.

well my car will not shift from 1st to 2nd if the rpms are higher than 6000. Won't do it nissan says there is nothing wrong with the tranny it doesn't grind it just will not go. but it will in every gear guess that is what became a habit.

Well, anyway, be sure to shift at the redline, as that will return the best results with our cars.

PM me next time. I went to Atco on the day you were at Etown.
So to the OP, sounds like you have a bit of a rpm shiftpoint problem. So do you shift into 2nd, 3rd and 4th at about 5800 rpm? That would explain a lot about your time-slip. You do have a really good 60', but then up to the 1/8 and especially the last 1/8, it seems as though you are down on power/speed. Let us know how you do next time out.
