I was there too wicked.

Yellow terminator. ( i was the only terminator at track) i was bone stock with street tires and ran best of 12.7 with 2.1 60'

Stupid asses didn't preped the track at all and i couldn't hook at all. it would just wheel hop and i had to let go on almost every starts and that killed my times.

My car has a good 12.4-5s in with with only 1.9 60' wheel hop was not fun at all. i watched you and even you couldn't hoook on slicks.. that poor dude, thought track was preped good and he took off heavy and wrecked his car.

I was trapping 114mph stock and that is the only thing made me happy.

your times are very nice for a stupid track. you definetely have like a good 12.1- flat 12s and high 11s in that thing.

i ain't take my car to track without my slicks again.

You are joel's friend aren't you? he told me about you that you had cobra pullied an all and you didn't tune the car and it caught on fire?

in the car you can hear the whine very clear. but i guess you can't hear it good from outside. my launches sucked dude.. i had never experienced a wheel hop like that. if i wouldn't let go, i would break the rear. i had 06 stang GT and i would low 1.9s 60' on stock tires and i ran best of 13.43 with it.

if track would be prepped good, i think i could cut 1.9x 60' with the cobra and run mid 12s but oh well..

aight man, next time, i will shoot you a PM before i go to track. about pulley, i am hoping to get it done soon.
Peace.

yap joels buddy. car was never tuned and ran like a beast lol.... however the clutch blew after i ran the car after teh blower was just put back on cuz it was a really bad clutch and i was anxious to feel the power, had only headers bolted on.... we assume fuel was leaking from teh headers rich and the clutch explosion caught em on fire, may have been bad re-install, but we doulbe checked everything. btw i was lucky, i have never experience wheel hop w/ my cobra when i had it, must be how ya launch it, same w/ 350.
------------------

Lmao I had a 05 stang GT to before the cobra and ran a best of 13.3. had headers, tb, tune. sold it for the cobra then lol.

lol.

wow, i can't believe you never experienced wheel hop.

i know hudreds of cobra owners all over the internet, i have only heard from one other guy that never experience wheelhop. everybodyelse did. when the tire gets loose, it starts to hop. there is nothing you can do.

Were you driving the car on drag radials? if so, maybe thats why u never experienced because people say DRs is cure for 90% of wheelhop and i am gonna order nittos soon!

So, how do you like Z compare to Terminator?

I had some cheap kumhos that came with the car when i bought it. no hop, then was using Mt ET street radials all the time, street to. no hop. I've seen it and been in a car with it, i just don't seem to get it lol

i couldv'e got another cobra but blah, i didnt want to (redo) everything again and just hate how the interior looks. i had a 2002 gt and thats why i bought a 2005 gt for the interior upgrade lol, then for power the terminator.... but i've always loved the Z , its looks and all, just the power and NA times were a bit low for my liking , but I've gotten my Z to a point to where w/o the ported blower on the cobra it outruns it Btw I raced a kenne bell cobra and only lost by a little over a car, guy had 550rwhp?+

nice times Bwicked!

your tire diameter is 26 inches so that's less than stock. The stock diameter is 26.32 with 235/45/18's
that probably lowers the max speed in each gear by 2 mph or so

Do you recall what rpm you shifted at for the different gears? Was it maybe slightly sooner than 6600 rpms?

My 295/35/18 tire diameter is 26.12 inches and was figuring I was going to have to shift into 5th anyway. For me, I figured I'd rather be around 5900rpms in 5th @11 psi with the 3.9 FD than 5300 rpms in 5th @ 10 psi with the 3.5 FD...but I'm not sure if launching with slicks with the 3.9 FD would be good for the axles

It'd be ideal if we wouldn't have to shift into 5th altogether though. Reving higher and/or using the 3.3 FD is the only answer to that without changing the transmission gear ratios or using a different transmission all together.

04treefiddy has a 12.3 with an aam spacer, test pipes, exhaust, vortech(3.12), tune making 390whp 327tq sae corrected
https://my350z.com/forum/drag/257153-new-best.html
hopefully the vortech does hit 11's this year
