Default first time at the strip (slips included) want your opinion!

first time with the 350 at the 1/4 mile track tonight thought i should have done better. temps started about 80 and went down to 70 by end of the night car #21

03 touring 6sp w/ injen cai, mrev2, crawford headers, ur hfc, borla true dual, springs and sways, 19 rims 275/35 rears, toyo t1r (no tune it really needs it though)

three things i noticed were
1.finishing over 103 but still in 14's
2.had to shift into 4th on every run of the night... thought i could get across in 3rd so i tried on the last run and bounced off the rev limiter well before the line (2nd slip)
3.picked up 25 mph on the second half of the track slip 1
please give some feed back and any pointers will be gladdly accepted want to see 13.5 at least

The 103 MPH trap speed is impressive. The car is running strong. Get the 60-foot time down to 2.0 seconds, and you will be running 13.8 seconds or better.

Very weird pass for a Z. Normally in a 350Z a 2.1x 60' and a 102+mph trap will get you well into the 13s. The problem is your 1/8 mile trap is really low, especially for a modded car (most stock Zs trap around 80 in the 1/8). I've also never seen an N/A Z pick up 25mph in the second 1/8. Very interesting. I'd go back to the track and get some more passes under your belt and you should be in the 13s easy.

EDIT: Just looked at your second slip and the 1/8 mile trap looked better..but still seems a little low for a modded car.

I ran last night for the 1st time as well. a 14.1 and 14.0x something, my trap spees were both 101, my ,60's were in the 2.22 range, temp was probably 75 and a little humid. My Z is bone stock, I was dropping the clutch around 2500rpm but was still getting wheelspin, I think I should have tried easing it in but I was nervous lol, I'm on my cell, I'll post slips up today!! it was fun though! Below mods aren't installed yet btw

i agree, your car seems to be strong. Are you a fast shifter? This is the only thing that i see that would be holding you back besides your 60ft time

R/T: .22r
60': 2'.228 (that's what's killing me)
330: 6.053
1/8: 9.150
MPH: 79.31
1000: 11.796
1/4: 14.012
MPH: 100.71

I'm convinced that when I fix my 60' and put on the hks and when other breather mods come out, I can do low-13's

I agree with bri-I believe your car is running healthy, your shifts need work. The 1/8 is slow both ET and speed wise because you have 2 shifts in the first 1/8, and only 1 in the last 1/8 of the race. Practice, practice, practice, your car has much more in it.

Thumbs up

I agree with what everyone else has said ( you just need more practice )

With that MPH you should be mid to low 13's

I updated the list with your time.

Later

thanks for the input guys and thanks for putting me on the list.

sometimes you just have to start at the bottom and work your way to the top, practice it is and maybe a tune just for a little extra bump. have noticed the car is running lean down low and even maybe a little up top. the smell of unburned fuel at high rpms has completely disappeared from when it used to stink on hard runs

i havent seen a n/a z that picked up 25 nmph on the last half either thought that was strange....any ideas??
