You know your problem sounds like something I've experienced, but all my stuff is aftermarket and I'm in an 05. I put in a JWT clutch/flywheel and my clutch would stick at around the half way point at high rpms after sitting in traffic. I bled it a few times before getting a new slave cylinder and braided line. I thought it had gone away but I still get a little sponginess.

Not as bad as before as before it would stick about half way up, I could even pull it back up with my foot. now it just feels a little spongy. Almost like there is air in the system, again I only get this feeling when its hot. I've been meaning to replace the fluid with some high-temp high performance stuff and re-bleed the whole thing. I've even got a little vacuum pump tool this time, hoping this works better than having someone pump it over and over again, just haven't got around to it. I might also try some insulating wrap all the way to the reservoir.

Its worth a shot to replace the fluid as that is the only thing I have not done. I've got some prestone brake fluid in it now.

i think its just me or the track i ran in was very badly prepped. Im running on street tires but my 60' times where no better than 2.2 and i tried slipping the clutch at 3.5k rpm's, tried 2.7k rpm's all sorts of things, i haven't dragged the car in a years but damn.

No I'm willing to bet the average time is more like a 13.8 with the new VQ's. The average time I'd say with the older motors was around a 14.2. Warren is usually a good .4-.5 seconds ahead of the curve.

It isn't THAT bad. There were others who ran 13.7-13.8 with the previous VQ. Most of the stock Z's I've seen run here ran 13s but they're not on the site.

But I can't argue with VeeTec being one of the best drivers here.

Anyone with clutch issues, but still manages 1.9 60's on street tires, can not be consider an average driver, thats for sure.

+1

i couldn't even manage a 1.9 when my clutch was working fine, the best i could manage was a 2.0, then when the slave cylinder went all retarded and my clutch started slipping, i couldn't get better than a 2.1
