Default The clutch pedal fix results are in.....

They are not good.

The weather was not good, but a shower cooled the air to a much nicer 88 degrees, while raising the humidity. The DA was 2,142 feet.

I was only able to make 3 passes, due to vehicles breaking on the track. On the first pass I attempted a 4,000 rpm launch, and as I put the power down, the clutch pedal went right to the floor, even worse than it had been doing in the past! It would not recover well, so I drove the Z easy, and came back around to the staging lanes to let it cool off.

I made the second attempt by launching easy, at around 2,500 rpms, getting into the gas all the way, after easing the clutch out quickly. The clutch pedal started to drop to the floor, but held enough to keep the power down, and it popped back out. It did not feel great though, and I am sure it was giving away a little.

For the 3rd and final pass, I tried too ease it out even quicker, at the same low 2,500 rpm range. This resulted in too much tire slippage, but the clutch held better, spinning too much in the upshift to 2nd and 3rd.

So, I will be taking the car back in on Monday, upset that the fix did not correct the problem.

On a side note, I beat a bolt on A4 Camaro SS, that was running on MT DR's.

This kind of reminds me of my Armada brake fix. Nissan had to go back, and place larger rotors and brakes on the Armada, as the original design was too small, and would warp quickly.

They will get it right, eventually. How much patience do I have, is the real question.

Dang that sucks. My revised slave cylinder is on back order, so hopefully Nissan is revising the revision or something.

They're changing it and the whole clutch assembly. However the slave cylinder is on back order so I'm waiting for it to arrive.

VeeTec,

I'm having same issue with my clutch slipping and not returning at times.

Can you send me a link to your previous post on this so I can get a little more background for my local Nissan dealer? They tell me they have never heard of this... no surprise!

Thanks!

Before it was fixed.

After I thought It was fixed, but I hadn't tested it in heavy traffic, or under a full load.

VeeTec, did they replace your clutch/pp/flywheel as well?

No, they said there was no need, that the problem was with the slave cylinder.

I talked with the dealer, and they are going to call me back, and schedule a drop off.

Ah... maybe there's a deeper issue then? I guess we'll see, I'm getting everything from the flywheel back to the slave cylinder replaced (thank goodness, my clutch feels like cr@p).

I'm beginning to believe that 13.4 is the best the 07 can get.

Well he always seems to run faster than everybody else so I guess I'll say 13.4 is the average time for 07's. lol

If you declare an average based on the times posted on this site, it's slower than 13.4.

I don't believe there are enough times available to make a determination yet.

Keep in mind that I have to launch easier right now, and that the clutch is giving up a little bit.

If I get a fix done that will hold, very low 13's are within reach, especially in cooler weather.

Are you still running with OEM fluids? or did you put in some hi-temp racing fluid??
FYI... earlier models had this same issue. Many owners switched to RBF and installed steel braided clutch line with some success.
