First day at track ever
So i went to the track (1/4 mile) for the first time ever, and it didnt go as well as I had hoped. My car is not optimized for torque, I know this. In fact Im pretty sure that my mods have lowered torque, but my top end 90-140 acceleration is awesome. At any rate I made 11 runs; my reaction times varied from .138 to .458, and I am constantly trapping at 95 mph, but my 1/4 mile times are hanging in the high 14's. Now, also take into consideration that yesterday was 101-104 degrees all day long. Could the temp be that big of a factor? I feel I should be in the high 13's at least. And although Ive never been to the track and am more of a top end racer, I've done plenty of drag and consider myself to be a decent driver. I am still spinning off the line, but not too much I dont think. my mods are: kinetix SSV, short shifter, nismo clutch, and a 3" exhaust all the way back (no cats, hollowed out mufflers[I know, i know..but it really makes a huge difference at top end and I have FL tags-so its legal and I plan on going FI]) should I consider this a decent run considering the lack of backpressure/torque and temperature yesterday?

I went to the track last week and it was HOT too. I can compare to colder days when it was about 40 degrees cooler, and it makes a big difference. My best 60' on a hot day would be around 2.3 seconds, while my best 60' on a cold day is 2.1' (on all seasons). My trap speed dropped by 2-3mph on average, and my quartermile took 0.1-0.3 seconds longer. Thats all from a temperature increase.

Every member considers themself a decent driver - the time slip is the final judge. What you lack is not skills, but seat time.

dont worry about rt.
get your 60ft time down and shift quicker. Learn to powershift if you feel comfortable.
Ill be going to commerce (atlanta dragway) next week to try and set some times for my new setup.

The 60' can be depleted if the outside temperatures are too cold. "too cold to get grip" for example. In my case, it could probably be the tread since I have no more tread (legally). I just ordered FK452's so i'll update when they're broken in.
RT can be taken cared of. Not be actually decreasing your reaction time, but by simply launching a little early. I launch when I see the 3rd orange lighht in the christmas tree light up. My average RT is less than 0.1 seconds. My best (or worst depending on how you look at it) was a 2ms (0.002 sec) redlight

atlanta dragway is not "friendly".... i think the consensus is that the same car will get around 0.3 - 0.5 seconds faster at most other tracks.... atlanta heat/humidity and the elevation at commerce all play a role in slow times..

Atlanta Dragway is a slow track, but my stock 07 still managed 13.503 there a few weeks ago, with a bad DA.
With your mods, the 60 ft and shifting is keeping your times up, and your traps down, more than likely.
If you have a SES light, your car may be pulling timing from running with no cats.
