Default Went to the Track w/4.083 gears

Well I am very impressed with the gears but not that veryimpressed with my driving skills. It was a terrible night atthe track. Got there around 7pm and got myfirst run around 9:50pm and thats it....

I launched the car at 3k rpms and pulled a 1.912 60' but heres where everything got messy. The 1-2 shift came sooooo early it caught me off guard and resulted in a 8.571@84.33mph on the 1/8 mile mark. I know I can do better if I knew the 1-2 shift was going to come that early. I hit couple of 8.4's before onthe old gears. My 1/4 mile wasa measely 13.284 but I managed to trap 108.63mph. I need to get 27" slicks. With the gears and 26" DR's I was crossing the 1/4 mile mark at the WAYYY top of 4th gear.

With only 3 more weeks into the track season here, I have little time to improve my driving skills and I know I will hit 12's. More to come next week!

Overall the gears are a great improvement for the track. Just need to step up my driving skills. first 2 gears go by very quick

If you have an 07 I guess you cant raise the rev limit just yet but keep that in mind before buying larger slicks....keep that gearing advantage

Nice trap too

Any mods besides the gears?

You really need to be launching from 5k with DR's/slicks to really take advantage of the gears... but very very good trap speed!

Thats a rediculous trap speed. You should be in the 12's no problem.

I believe he has an exhaust. I could be wrong, its been a while.

Gooey, if I remember correctly, you also had a set of 19" wheels. What wheels did you use at the track?

It was myfirst run of the night and only run. didnt want to mess up too bad so I launched at 3k.
Yes I have 19's but I was running 15" jegs wheels with bfg DR's. 19's in the front though . Just put on my volks an hour before the track.
Mods full fast intentions exhaust including test pipes, aem intake, and gears.

getting a more aggressive gear then getting a taller tire will negate the effect of the gear (at least somewhat, the calculation would have to be done to know exactly how much).

awesome trap speed though, nice work.

Well the 26" is bit shorter then stock size and stepping up to a 27" tire would put me in the better portion of where I make the power instead of hittin the rev limiter at the line

Damn nice job.

Damn you trapped at 108. Wow. 12's are just around the corner. The highest I have been able to trap is 103 @ atco.

If you run 12.XX seconds, you will be #1 Not Stock/Bolt-ons 07+ VQ35HR.

EDIT: Never mind. You are #1.

Jon your definitely gonna hit 12s soon. You pretty much ran that time before the gears so you will be fine when you get used to the quicker first two shifts. My goal(however unrealistic it may be) was to be the first 07 to hit 12s but i think I'm not gonna have a choice but to give that honor to you.

Letme know when you guys want to goto the track. Im definately looking into a new clutch now. Stock clutch is some weaksauce and started to show its wear on the track.

Great times and ET.
12's are around the corner with more practice.

It is a big adjustment in your driving with Gearing
That Redline seems to appear VERY quickly
