Out of the box the Z is better. With mods the 335 can be better.

All around at least. Straight line is close.

Good luck on the runflats though, they suck big time

I owned an e36 BMW. And honestly they look nice and all that but there are overpriced like a ****. Theres a lot of cheaply made parts in there that kept breaking. Places were it should be metal was plastic, and not even a hard plastic at that. Now once your warranty runs out good luck with the maintenance. I was close to buying the 335, I test drove it and it drove like a dream. However after 3 different model types you would think they would do something a lil different with the gauges and interior, but no still the same flimsy gauge pod in there.

Both are great cars and excellent competitors, but I think I got the better deal saving 15 thousand.

I had an E36 as well, and I miss the simplicity of the E36 stuff to work on, but the Z is such a better car mechanically.

You get a lot more car with the BMW, but its a lot more money too.

Either car performs well, and we obviously each choose which suits us better overall.

well how bout a stock G37 coupe vs stock 335i, since its not really fair to compare nissan and BMW. and i would say the G37 is in the same class as the BMW. or maybe just put twins on a Z to make it a fair race since they would both be FI ?

A race I would like to see is a vortech 350z with ~400whp go against a 335i with procede. Should be an interesting race, the Z would have more hp, but be down in torque.

This thread really is silly. Like someone mentioned, going on a board and calling out stock cars, lame. Or if you look at the OP bimmerforums kill threads, it would be like a TT350Z racing a 325 or 330.

Quarter mile times should follow similarly.
Yeah I agree with hard #'s and those #'s above are what ive read. HOWEVER, its STILL a drivers race IMO. I wouldnt underestimate the Z when driven flawlessly. Wheres the Z driver that pulled the 13.1? Put him in the cockpit....

I own a Z myself but I have to give props to the new 335i. 335i Sedan Automatic Mods: AA Xede with Custom Mapping, CAI and Custom Turbo back with Cut Outs. It made 428rwhp & 439rwtq on dyno on pump gas. Still a new car, not much mods out yet. Imagine 2 years from now!

1/4 mile = 11.908 sec @ 115.930 mph.

60' time = 1.664 sec.

07-08 350z is quicker than a g37. the g37 put on way too much weight and they are not FI if that's what your saying. stock for stock i'd put my money on the 335 to win. 335 with chip and a couple mods would be as quick if not quicker than a m3. bmw probably didn't tune 335 to max to encourage people to buy m3.

Sorry but the 335 is a superior car hence the difference in price. Also, isnt the 335 rated at <5.0 0-60? Whats the debate about again?

Lets go to the RSX forums and see if our Zs are faster. I dont see the point.

He stated that wherever the volunteer is for the 350Z (HRs), he'll find a stock 335i for it to race. Because he saw little to no volunteers, he's resorting to racing somebody himself. So why not help him out by volunteering, instead of crying he's modded and it's not fair.

Also, that guy who said G37 was talking about the luxury of each car, then he was talking about turboing the Z to make it FI like the 335i.

Z10? That's not even out. What about the R34 Z-Tune, then?

how about a Supra TT vs a 335i, that would seem like a better match up. Mod for mod and they should be fairly close, I just think at some point, the bimmer engine would be toast while the Toyota is asking for more.
