Default my first time at the dragstrip this season

The 1/8th dragstrip opened tonight here in Benson, NC. Wasn't crowded at all. They weren't doing both lanes so it was just one lane all night. They also didn't give out time slips because no one was there.

My best pass was my second one at 8.8 at 80mph. My worst was a 9.6. My car kept getting worse and worse through out the night. My clutch felt really funny so i just called it quits when i felt like i wasn't going to run better.

Mods:
AAM spacer
F/I test pipes
nismo exhaust
JWT clutch/flywheel

Wheels and tires:
stock 18s with Nitto nt555 streets

This was also with my heavy system and brembo full spare tire in the car. I also grinding my 3rd gear all night because of my sh1tty tranny. 009 is coming soon though.

What was the 60ft? That clutch will hold you rpower for days, bleed the air out of the clutch line.

They didn't give out any slips last night. All they show in the board is the time and mph. I wish they did though so i can better analyze.

My tranny/clutch felt really hot. I can feel the heat coming through the cabin even though it was 29 degrees outside. And my flywheel chatter got louder every run as well which is why i just stopped for the night. I really didn't want anything messing up on me because Benson is about 40-50 miles from my place.

btw Alberto..do you have any tips for me with really bad wheelspin? I asked a couple of guys down there last night who had some fast mustangs. They told me to keep turning my steering wheel back and forth a bit through out 1st and 2nd gear until traction is good. I didnt' want to try it because i really didn't want to hit the guard rails or anything. I dropped my rear tire pressure to about 27 psi.

My brain doesn’t think in 1/8 miles. I checked some time slips, and it is possible to run better than 14.0 seconds with your times.

It was 29 degrees!!!! Would have sucked if there was any moisture on the track. I probably wouldn't have ran at all.

Very good times however. I believe that it is your tranny causing the issues, and in terms of wheel spin, it was because it was 29 degrees, lol.

ha, yeah. Some truck spilled tranny fluid over the track so they had to prep the whole track over and also heated it with a torch or something right by where you take off. So the track was fresh before my first run. But yeah, that's why i made sure i took out some air in the tires. Other cars weren't really having traction problems. It seemed like i was the only one and a few turbo fwd cars.

Yup, 10 dollars for one person and one car to race and 5 dollars for my friend to spectate.

I thought it was going to be more people. It's really country out there. Because all that was racing were work trucks. And when i say work trucks, i'm not kidding. With tool boxes and all.
