Wheels aren't making the 1>2 shift chirp

I noticed that my tires stopped chirping when I shift into second. It used to do it every single time (last summer), and since then nothings changed on the car (no mods, same tires). I've driven it between now and last summer but rarely because I was away at school, so it did a lot of sitting in the garage. But even when I did drive it, it was never WOT. I can't figure out what would be causing this.
Should I be concerned, could I have lost some hp/tq somehow? I've never had it dyno'd, but for what it's worth, it feels just as quick as it used to but I'm not really sure what to think. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Yeah, but the fact that the chirping stopped without changing anything on the car makes me think I'm losing power or something.

There are a lot of factors, which include the surface, clutch and tires.
I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, as I run my best times when the tires bite without slipping first.
