The Max got sold in January and I got the G a couple days later. I had my eye on the G sedan ever since it came out. I'm very happy with it and apparantly it's a bit quicker than I gave it credit for. Before I got the G, I told myself i had to accept the fact that the G was going to be a bit slower than the Max, especially since the G would have an auto. I was pleasantly surprised last week when I got my slip and it said 14.4 at almost 98mph. The G is dang near as quick as my Maxima was with 96 octane, a bunch of NA mods, and no passenger seats. The G is basicially stock and I think it should go 14.3s in cooler air. I guess it's time to do some real power mods now

Sorry to hear about your half-shaft mishap. It's good to hear they're easy to swap out because I'm planning on the 6 speed VLSD pumkin swap in the future.

I had the same deal with my Z when I got it. From the pathetic numbers that people and mags were pulling out of it back in late 2002, my max was only a few ticks behind N/A and quicker on the juice...or so I thought.
After my Z was broken in...I ran Nealoc187 and the Z litterally hammered on the bolt on max...and my max was about dead even with neal's back then from a roll. (before his ECU)

I was really impressed when I was able to pull 13.6@103 out of the Z stock...

so why didn't you go with the 6-speed G????

Long story short, I didn't like the way it drove. Both 6 speeds I drove exhibited vibrating shifters and clutch pedals and a general notchiness of the gates. According to everything I've read, this is normal operation. I had grown very tired of this type of vibration and notchiness in my Maxima after 6 years use and I really didn't want to deal with it for another 6 years. The vibrations just didn't fit the smooth character of the G35. Now if I had bought a Z, then the vibrations could be tolerated because the Z is far from a smooth driving car and it just wouldn't feel right not having a manual Z. The 6 speed reliability issues also worried me even I knew it would be warranitied. I know I'll have my car well past the powertrain warranty expiration and the last thing I want to worry about is a quircky tranny. Oddly, the auto Gs I tested felt quite a bit stronger around town which really impressed me. No worries though, I had always planned to get an auto G sedan anyways. I had grown a little tired of rowing my own and the auto gives me most of the control I desire. In the future, I plan on picking up a 3rd fun car (S2000, Miata, 5.0 notchback) and that will be a manual.

California Speedway with a DA of 3900ft.+ (DA was taken at night, my run was in the afternoon - ouch)

My 350Z converted time:

ET: 14.663 x 0.9523 = 13.963 Seconds 1/4 mile run
Trap: 95.90 x 1.0507 = 100.76 MPH
60': 2.155
R/T: .057 (.000 is perfect in CSW)

I'm not a big fan of correctional numbers, but I don't drive a turbo car anymore.

That's **** slow for cars with at least 350rwhp. I have 257rwhp and I've turned a 13.3. Those cars have to be trapping at least 110mph, and with a decent launch they should be well into the 12s.

There's a few guys on this forum with just 400rwhp, that have dipped well into the 11s...
