Default Drag noob - 14.6 stock? Help lol

Went to the dragstrip today for the first time in my Z. Heres my best time, just wondering whats going wrong or if its about right, or what I can do better.

2.23 60 ft
6.23 330 ft
9.57 1/8 et
76.5 1/8 mph
12.38 1000 et
86.39 1000 mph
14.60 1/4 et
95.06 mph

Seems like my trap speed is alot lower that most of the stock Z's on here i've looked at.

my first time was right around the same time. looks like your launch and 1/8th time sucks. I tried feathering the throttle off the line to grab traction and ran a 13.7 all stock with oem wheels ..just nitto nt555 street tires.

Yea I need to find out how to launch the car better... I ran like 15+ times and they were all 2.2 - 2.3 60ft.

It was like 90-93 out so I guess it wasn't optimal conditions. Oh, well had fun, look forward to going back.

look at your tire pressure and make sure it's not too high.

Just kidding of course with my comment above. You did good. You beat 90 percent of the lame magazine racers and 90 percent of the lame dyno racers here.

I5 runs in 90 degree heat is not the best situation. The car never cools. I allow at least 30 minutes between runs. High temperatures and high humidity and sometimes the staging pad is like slip-and-slide. Next time out you will do better.

Listen to davidv. He's been drag racing for years. I remember those drag racing posts and pics from 350zforums.

Kinda figured I should have let it cool off between runs, I was just stoked and tried to keep figuring out how to launch it. Especially because there were only a few cars running. I didn't change my tire pressure, so it was sitting around 35 cold, mighta been a little high.
