Default New PB for me last night, first time on slicks. kinda dissapointed

Finaly found the time to run again, after being fed up with street tires I decided to just go ahead and buy some slicks, I just happened to pick a really crappy and busy night with tons of break downs. I was really nervous lol and only got to run twice.
I'll probably go back this weekend in hopes of better results.

TRACK: Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton FL.
CAR: 08 350Z MT with 91,xxx miles
Test pipes, exhaust and k&n drop in filters, untuned.
4.08 Gears, Quaife diff., ACT 6 puck clutch, LW Flywheel
Mickey Thompson E.T Street 11.50x26 at 25psi on 300ZX TT Wheels

Did not do a burn out, launched at about 4k and bogged real bad both times.
Ran a best of 13.086 @ 106.74mph. Car felt great though, I believe it can run 12s without a doubt.

It's cool to see a Z go that fast. I'm gonna be swapping to 4.08 gears too. You'll be in 12s in no time.

Nice time. Not bad at all. I hit 13.03 @ 105 with slicks 27x11.5x15 with the 4.08s. After I removed that diff and installed another diff with 3.53 gears I ran a 13.056 @ 94 mph. I lost a lot of MPH so I'm getting my 3.916 gears installed on my diff with 4.08s. I'm hoping for mid 12s around 105-108mph.

Damn that's a lot of mph lost, I guess with a taller tire like that it made your gearing even longer. I just wanna learn how to properly launch on slicks I get pretty nervous lol ill be going back hopefully on Sunday

I'd tell you that 25psi is too high but you bogged off the line. Start at 20psi and work down if needed.

Heat em in 2nd gear and launch higher. Otherwise you aren't coming close to using those things correctly.

Agreed about the pressure seeming high but bogging says otherwise. Also agree that not heating them at all is bad and heating them in 1st would be a mistake.

thank you for the advice guys i appreciate it, ill try that. i was just nervous since ive never ran on slicks before nor have i ever done a burn out, i just need some practice. i believe the reason for bogging off the line was due to a 4.5k rpm launch without out much slipping of the clutch, ill try a higher rpm while slipping the clutch a bit more. i have a 6 puck that has a super high engagement point which i love but its a bit tricky to slip lol. im supposed to go back tonight but some things came up so sunday seems like the day , just sucks that runday sunday is when its the hottest out.

Can somebody chime in i'm new to slicks as well and am looking at 300 zx tt wheels. Is Redline06 wheel setup good for the track, I have been reading on the mickey thompson website that they recommend that you stay no wider than an inch of the actual wheel width is this correct. Can somebody chime in that actually drag races with slicks please thanks.

Don't slip your clutch more than 10-15ft or you will fry it... my 6 puck didn't last long at the track.

The cool thing about ET streets is you can adjust the pressure so they give you some controlled spin... taking the load off your clutch.

At your power level and if the track is prepped well, you don't really have to do a burnout at all if the pressure is dialed in... just spin the water/gravel off.
