Default New PB, 08 Z ,12s finally

08 Z 6MT 104K miles
Mods:
AAM test pipes, motordyne y pipe and nismo s-tune exhaust.
4.08 gear quaife diff.
K&n drop ins.
E.T streets
Stock tune.

Weather condition was probably the worst I've ever raced in
Rained earlier in the day, 11PM Temp was unreal about 84F, nut sweating humidity was off the charts.
Any way I can find out what the DA was? Bradenton Motor Park FL
I definitely felt it in the car, cant wait untill it cools down a bit

Launch:
18psi without doing a burnout launching at 5k , running 13.00s cutting 1.8 60's all night then my absolute last run I get a worse 60' 1.9 and run my 12.98 lol . So much more left in this car.

I had to pu$$yfoot it into 2nd gear, I was getting serious 2nd gear lock out all night so I took it easy and shifted slow , I have no idea why

Next run will be in cooler temps, hopefully tuned, with long tube intakes and when I see real results from PPE Long Tube Header owners ill get them.

thanks man, i love the gears but im not sure if theyre a huge difference, but def a good difference. roll racing i think i would be better off with stock gears but launching feels a lot better, granted ive never launched on slicks with stock gears so my opinion may be off lol

I think they can run 12s basically stock. I'm taking out my brothers 08 Z with my slicks soon. he ran 13.1 with just an exhaust on street tires . Should be good, his doesn't lock me out of 2nd.
Oh and about the mileage, I swear it gets better with miles lol

nice to see an hr over 100k miles.. any noticeable clutch slip? I'm at 70k with mine and was wondering if I should do a transmission flush and replace my clutch.

Thanks guys, Alberto I'm not overly thrilled with it but at least I got my 12 lol . I knew I wasn't gonna do much better considering how hot and humid it was. When it cools down a bit I'm confident I'll shave a few tenths just the way it sits now, gives me some time to figure out why its locking me out of 2nd so I don't have to shift into it like a grandma . I would really like a tune too by then

no clutch slip here lol I do have an ACT 6 puck , I think that's my lock out problem, but its letting me shift 2-3 and 3-4 perfect :/

Bet it's your timing. Can't tell you how many guys have mental blocks on certain shifts, they swear it's a synchro, clutch problem. Then I drive their cars and show em it's not.

In the past have you missed or grinded the 1-2 a lot?

I had another friend try it and he messed up 3 times , idk if u remember him on here Cripple350z ran 13.1 with a stock DE on DRs. I've never grinded 1-2 just the occasional once in a blue moon miss shift is all. I have a feeling it may be related to shifter alignment, I was just messing with it trying to figure it out and I found that pulling the shifter too far to the corner messed me up every time I did it fast , but pulling the shifter more straight back so to speak worked a lot better almost makes me feel like I'm gonna shift into 4th by accident. Im sorry, not sure if that explanation made sense lol best way I could put it .

Don't think that's what he's referring to when he asked about 1-2nd misshifts...

Oh I thought he asked if I grinded 2nd a lot in the past, which would be no. I've misshifted like anyone else but rarely.

Roger well I think he was getting at if you grinded a lot then it the snychros....if not you might wanna check out a new clutch cylinder from Zspeed! I had the recall done on my Z and still I'm in need of it, I find myself pumping the clutch before beating on it.

I have the Z Speed CSC, I just saw the clutch cylinder a few days ago I really want it, I feel like maybe I should bleed it . It was a pain in the a$$ to bleed when I installed like a year ago. With the master cylinder from Z speed bleeding should be a breeze.
I'm gonna align the shifter first if that's not good then go back to Nissan trans fluid and flush the clutch fluid while I'm at it. And if that doesn't fix it then idk lol get the cylinder I guess.
