Maybe it's the altitude and temp here in Alabama, but the C6 vette's were running 8.2~8.4 and a lot of the SRT8's were running mid 8's

That's not right at all, the car should be trapping closer to 90 unless it's down on power or having severe traction issues.

exactly, my friend ran drag slicks and when the light turned green he ran an awesome 1/4 meter time before his axle snapped lol.... was not a pretty sight

i'd swap back to a lower final drive gear and add an lsd if you dont have one already to help with traction. but that's all driver bandaids :P
