Default Maxima Auto vs F-body

I know this in not a Z but we have basically the same engine and its fun beating a V8 especially with an auto.

This was posted on the fbody and mustang forums with varying comments, but mostly good.

Your forum is more techinical than ours, not too many real performance enthusiasts with Maximas, so good reading here.

This is the timeslip. Best run was the second slip. 100 shot NX for both. It runs 13.5 @ 102 N/A.

Next track visit will be with a 150 at least and some race gas for safety.

Hotshot Headers, b-pipe, illumina's, homemade intake, slicks, stock auto trans and engine internals.

Runs a 1.7 60' with a 50 shot so not too bad for a fwd auto.

Whats weird is that most Z's with a 100 shot dont even come close to that, but then again you have a great launch. Any dyno's NA or on nitrous? What kind of 60ft does it pull NA? Very cool to see a Maxima running so good...

I am not a real dyno believer, especially with an auto because it kicks down below 4k so I prefer to tune at the track. I have a wideband and S-AFCII and it seems to work quite well.

60' N/A is 2.0, haven't gotten below that yet.

I think the Z is faster, there are a lot of 13.5 times bone stock and mine only does that after the mods I've done.

You tune your nitrous off of your wideband? Thats interesting, what are your a/f's?

Maxi's are nice...I've owned a a couple and now my brother has an 03 auto. He only has a cai, and exhaust running 2.2 60' times and 14.6@96mph
He's getting headers and DR's in hopes of high 13's? I told him he'll get LOW 14's with those two mods on top of what he already has. Fast comfysedans...
