Default WTF? TCS something or other?

Last season I was thinking my tcs/vdc/some other form of ******** was still on even though I have the ABS unplugged and the "yaw black box unknown thinggy" under the center console unplugged because my car would start spinning the tires, but the revvs would start to drop. I would clutch kick and it would help, but it seemed like power was being cut till I straightened or transitioned and got back into it. It also seemed strange because I'm running 235/40/18 on a 10.5" wheel with 4.5* camber and it was hard for me to break the tires loose.

Now I have a Stillen stage 3 and I'm still having issues getting the tires to break loose (same setup). I've only had it on for 2 days and haven't really drifted yet, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something. But going 30mph and dumping the clutch in second yields a screech and the car grips like mad. I don't get it. I hear my buddy say he has 285/45/18 and in the same situation with his Stillen, his car would get all sorts of wheel spin.

Other people tell me they'll get their base car sideways in 3rd at like 4k rpm and it'll go up to redline. Mine has never done this.

I've been thinking the diff brake or whatever because I do have a nismo gt which is supposed to work with all factory equipment, but haven't found anything to confirm this. Looking through all these ******** TCS/VDC/YAW/GTFO wtf ever threads on here gets the same novel long posts saying your switch disables everything. I can't read any more of these. Page after page and my brain is starting to hurt and I'm out of lucky charms.

What is it I'm doing wrong? Or is it that I've found the ultimate grip setup for the Z? (thats a joke btw)

thats weird, cus im still n/a and can drop the clutch in 3rd maintain the right speed and angle and go faster and faster. but tsc/vdc in the z instantly kills the revs,

a couple times ive intiated a drift a forgot to hit my trac off button and it just instantly kills the revs so there is no way to drift with that on.

i not really sure what to tell you but maybe plug your abs back in, i dont have it unplugged while i drift, never tried, but i dont have a cool hydro e brake either( not yet ) so i dunno if it would effect that either

best of luck to ya

Last season I was running 245/255 18's (depending on the day) and had no trouble boiling them in second but 3rd gear it would not keep the revs up (combination of VLSD and a bone stock motor.). However part of it was also my ECM cutting power as I tend to left foot brake a ton, IIRC it's pin 101 to the ECM is the brake light signal which pulls from the signal to the lights and cuts power to the motor. Also will allow you to do standing heaters! Try that maybe since you've already pulled the yaw sensor and are running it without abs.

Plugging your ABS back in will have no change.

"I'm running 235/40/18 on a 10.5" wheel with 4.5*" Interesting. . .

Anyway, maybe your clutch is bad. Otherwise, this is out of my area of expertise (I'm a grip guy).

if the wheel speed sensors are "uninstalled" then you would have the same as a base model... or even 1 rear one... ECU will then ignore speed sensors and not close the throttle plate

I was just looking at the Formula D rule book and saw you can't have speed sensors hooked up and it made me think about that so I went to the FSM and considered unplugging them to see what happens.

However, I did make it to the "test track" today and at least 2nd gear had no problems without clutch kick going sideways and running to redline even starting at about 3k revs.

Saturday will be D-Day for me. I'll have a better idea whats going on. If it comes down to it, I'll unplug the speed sensors and see what happens.

Thanks.

^^ First off love the pic.. (thought you went turbo?, but I see a stillen supercharger on there, sick either way)

I personally don't know what to tell you since I don't have ABS or VDC, but it sounds like it could have something to do with you un-plugging the ABS since you started having the problem after the un-plug..

I unplugged ABS and it did it. I unplugged the black box thing and I didn't notice it as bad, but still did. Thats pretty much it.

Disregard this.

My car is awesome now. I think I was just wanting a bit more power for the tracks we run. 2nd generally isn't long enough and 3rd was too much.

3rd is my new 2nd.
