Default Looking into purchasing a new 07 Z

I'm looking into financing a Z for up to four years, I've been to a few dealers today and they weren't close to the amount I was looking for. I was offered $1364 for my monthly payments, that's with no money down and a 5% interest rate. Would asking $1250 be an unreasonable offer or could I go lower?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I was going to put 10,000 down, but it still wouldn't have made a differance. The fact of the matter is the price they offered me meant that I would still be paying 65k in the long run for a 50k car. My question was how much lower could I negotiate the price for an 07 350z.

you should probably save more before buying....paying over $1200/month for a Z is insane....cause you're going to have other expenses like gas ($200-300 a month?) and insurance (i'm assuming $250-300/mth)...then there's maintainance costs...that's close to $2000 a month just on the Z

sorry for the run on sentence, but gotta make sure you know what you're getting yourself into.

Yea, I've been planning this for quite some time now. I know you guys mean well, but I'm set on purchasing this car. Why does everyone think I can't afford this car? I can't be the only person on here that has chosen to finance a Z. I'm not some kid from highschool, I work full time and have a pretty good salary. I was wondering if I could get the Z a little cheaper or if anything a little negotiating advice. I saw a post a few months back where someone was offered 58,500 for a Z. The dealerships I went to offered a Z higher, maybe since summer is so close, I don't know? This also isn't my first car, I've been driving an RSX for 5 years now, I pay as much as $400 on my insurance already and I know the expenses on gas. I've never put anything less than 91 octane. I've also had my fair share of maintenance on the car, trust me on this, I was one of the unlucky ones getting a lemon. In spite of all these issues, trading my car in never crossed my mind, so I'm still keeping it on top of purchasing a Z. The Z is one of my dream cars, I love how it sounds and how it looks. I'll probably opt to get a used one if I don't get one for the price range I'm looking for, again I was hoping for some sales advice.

You should aim for getting 4% off MSRP on the 07 Z. Since the 07 Z is a little over $50K, you should be able to get at least $2,000 off before taxes.

If your sales cannot do that, then go to another Dealer because the mark up for this car is about 8%. Therefore 4% is reasonable, you don't pay MSRP and the dealer still makes $$.

Don't talk about monthly payment with the sales because it can get confusing. Always discuss on the price of the car.

By the way, make sure you check your car insurace first so there aren't any surprises.

sorry if this sounds rude or condescending, but it doesn't sound like a very good plan when you're going to buy a new car with no sizable down payment and willing to pay upwards of $2000/mth just to have a Z.

i'm going to stop crapping on your thread now, good luck with your search for that great deal!

no one here was even hinting at the fact about whether or not you would be able to afford the car, they were merely mentioning the fact that that does sound like quite a bit of money, and might be able to save a few bucks here or there. even rich people like to save a few bucks if they can.

good luck with the search, hopefully you're able to find a good deal and jump on it.

the thng is to maintain your factory warranty, you gotta bring it in for the recomended service, or if an issue comes up in the futcher they cant say oh you didnt do your service warranty denied. Now if the car is heaveily moddified now I understand dont go I stopped going to the dealer after I boosted my 350.

If you are not only chosing 07, I believe there are so many 06 around on trader with really little mileage on with a decent price. So check trader, maybe you can find something around 40k for a 06 with little or no mileage on the car.

^IMO, that is rediculous. That is more then my Mortgage+insurance+utilites, put together..

I am not suggesting anything here but simply offering some advice, put more money down... you will regret the payments in 2 years when you are modding your z...

Good luck!
