Bose TSB Amp installed!
Well.
I'm not impressed.
Before I got booming base, a bit irritating but, if you turned it up loud enough, it evened out...
Now.
Imagine this.
I get into the car and turn it on... notice that the bass sounds a bit low... can't feel any booming in my back at all.... I like a little bit o'boom... not a lot.... but enough to let you know it's there...
So.
I go to adjust the bass.
+5!!!
What in the living hell is that?!?!??!!!?
Now I have the bass set at +5, the Treble at -2 and it is somewhat livable.... it doesn't appear to adjust itself but this utter lack of bass is going to drive me nuts!!!
Great.
Now what?

I agree with you 110%. I have my settings at the same level as you. For a supposed premium system it completely lacks substance. One gets more life out of a $50 transister radio. I just cannot understand why Nissan don't make Bose fix the problem. Even if Nissan had a say in the specifications, it can'y be doing Bose any good to put their name to such a moderate system.
I am considering at least putting in a new amplifier and sub speaker for a start. Based on other comments on the forum, it would appear that the main system and sub woofer amplifiers are pretty feeble efforts, and can probably never deliver good sound. Has anybody else done changed the sub woofer speaker and amplifier with success? Also is the sub woofer cross-over in the sub amplifier or the main amplifier. It may be pointless installing a new sub woofer system if the signal has already been ruined before it gets to the sub.
I don't want to spend a lot of money or undertake a major system upgrade, but just want to put a bit more punch into the current system. One needs to "feel" some more base.

Hey Buddy.
This is the reason I never really pushed the dealer to install the new amp. Anyway, go to the Bose website...I forget if it is bose.com or whatever. There is an e-mail address. Send them an e-mail regarding your complaint. I did and got an e-mail back saying that the system in the 350Z is not up to their standards, they are aware of the problem and are trying various fixes for it. Then it goes on to say that I will be contacted once a fix becomes available and to tell everyone I know with a 350Z to e-mail them with a complaint. Seriously, it looks like Bose is taking it upon themselves to fix this and are not waiting for Nissan. I'll let you knwo if/when I hear anything.

So here's my question? Whats one level below sucks!!!!
I had it done last week. +5 no base at all, stopped into the dealer today, ask to speak to the DSM, she said that he will call me.
BOSE, 3 emails to the states, 3 voice messages to the states,
one reply from the canadian rep. Doesn't know anything about
car audio systems........what a ..............anyway, my dealer is really good, asked to look into bose 02 fix, will keep everyone up to date on the outcome. Guess that 6,000 for a new system
is getting closer as times passses.
cheers,
