My Z has never been through a car wash!!!... that said , the sight of salt etching along the sides of my Z would drive me out of my freaking mind . I did figure out however ,that a $500 beater is still less expensive than a set of winter tires for a Z. `sides ...come March ..... it`ll be like bustin` a nut all over again

hey guys,
I just put Dunlop Winter Sports on my car and it handled great on the day of the storm. Personally I way prefer RWD than FWD in the winter. You can control the car more in the turns with the throttle and not understeer to death.
I think it all depends on what you are used to, how comfortable you are with your car and your driving skill level.

i've driven my z in heavy snow before (on summer tires too) and it's definitely not worth the constant state of pissing your pants.
at any rate, i don't see why we need to drag this discussion further. if you drive your z all year round, great .. just don't get overly-zealous and end up in a ditch. if you don't and like to stare at your z all winter in the garage, than join the club
we're starting our winter-beater meets soon ..

When I first got my Z in Feb. 2007 I attempted to drive it in the snow- after all I didn't know any better. I got stuck a block away - thank goodness I didn't make it far. Stock Z & Summer tires in the snow in my opinion is equivalent to wearing expensive dress shoes with hard bottoms in the snow...only time will tell when you will get into an accident. Summer tires aren't engineered for cold weather, etc etc...
On the other hand, the tire sales rep. says blizzacks are the way to go...at least they work well on her mustang- which I understand is an entirely different car....
I kept my old car so in the winter I drive it...It's not worth it in my book to risk someone hitting my z...
...and the article about the cayman S is hilarious...I sent it to my friend who just put his Cayman S in for the winter as well.
