My rear end was noticeably 'snappy' after I gutted it. I mean, my rear end sits nearly an inch higher!

I doubt I will bottom out at stock ride height, the stock spring rates should be able to handle 100-200lbs of front downforce. What I AM concerned of is the impact of negative lift on the front, causing lift in the rear.

Here's some numbers for you from a GT3RSR:

baseline, no splitter
CD (drag): 0.9
CL (total lift): -1
CLf (front lift): -0.23
CLr (rear lift): -0.82

3in splitter:

CD: +0
CL: -189
CLf: -290
CLr: +101

What this means basically is that adding a 3in splitter (mine is 4in) added 290lbs of downforce on the front wheels (great turn in speeds), but caused 101lbs of lift on the rear (ouch, oversteer), all while slightly reducing overall drag (likely due to the full flat bottom already on the car.

Im not saying a 350z will have the same results, but similar. You can expect that 100lbs of downforce on the front will cause a good 30-40lbs of lift on the rear. Your overall downforce is increased however, with possibly less drag, so the mod is 'good'. Just changes the balance, which may negate the extra grip. Will have to wait and see.

Solution: A rear wing. But thats a lot of money, and bumps me a class in OTA. Eventually I would like to try it though.

Do you think that will be a problem?
depend what kind of speed you are getting and also what of suspension you have .
let just say if you have the APR gtc 300 as what Sasha has ,, it give about 1000lbs at 100mph
how stiff is your spring ?
let say they are 10kg (560 lbs/in.) your spring would get compressed for almost 1-3/4 to 2 inch

how close are you of bottoming your suspension ?

Car felt so neutral when I put the square hankooks on last year. Hope it's not too steep a curve in May. I will be working on rev-matching the first few events which I am weak at. Going to take some time to get used to it all.
I will make a couple OTA events this year.
But not going to take it too serious.
Car just isn't built to compete there.

But will be fun regardless, and with a car built without attention to detail, and no experience if I do ok, then that makes it even more fun.

There is a wide range of people at OTA. Like I said you need to do at least 7 events to even compete for series anyway, and each 'event' has no awards or anything.

Chacel: I think your numbers are in Newtons. At 100mph at an aggressive AoA you are looking at about 350lbs. Closer to around 170mph you will see 1000lbs of negative lift.

I personally like Kognition's stuff. Here are the specs on their 72in wing
http://kognitiondesign.com/72span.html

Still looking at $2000 by the time its on your car.

oh you are right !! big mistake !! hehe
I had half of the math right lol...
soo 350lbs @ 100mph on a 10kg spring it should be compressed by .6'' (10kg = +-560lbs/in) @ 100mph

yeah I contacted Kognition but they arent making any braket anymore for the 370z ... and he is willing to sell me an 70'' for 1000$ + shipping
but I would have to find someone to make some custom bracket...

less headache to just go with APR I would have prefered Kognition

blah, brady had the game, just no one could catch a damn ball.

Well....I couldn't wait any longer. I went for a run today, came home and called the insurance company. Then bolted a chair down

mind the 4x4 gap. Its worse with 17s....

First impressions with no carpet/deadener. You can hear the transmission a lot more, and it likely sounds nasty in the rain, but overall its not bad. Oh, and OEM crap tires are so shitty. I miss my RS3s.

Considering a Nismo V3 bumper and diffuser...

Not sure if it's worth the $1200 price tag.

I also considered that....
Don't know if it makes real downforce though as that would be the reason I would want one. Also considered getting canards (which I hate the look of) for the front as well.

The V3 does look cool though.

Been waiting on my shipment from Z1 awhile.
Placed my order Jan 2nd. Its those damn power grid endlinks.

Maybe I should just delete them?

What swaybars did you get? Or had?

I like the nismo v3, but the aero qualities are probably conservative. IMO if its not secured to handle a lot of downward force, it probably doesn't generate much.

Canard are a very high drag to downforce ratio, especially at high speed. Their main purpose is to create a vortex down the side of the car, reducing the amount of air squeezing into the sides and under the car (thus reducing air pressure under the car more). I was thinking of installing some for DDT, maybe GBR, and Nelson (SMP without the 401 stretch). On the plus side they are effective at lower speeds.

I'm interested more for aesthetic reasons as I need a more aggressive bumper to compliment the V3 wing that I recently purchased.

Not a fan of the canards... I like the clean shaven look. Mike your V2 still looks sweet.

I had/ still have stock sway bars. waiting on some hotchkis. Figured while I was down there I'd get new endlinks.

Car is going to feel 100% different. Expect a bit of a learning curve with the diff, but once you get used to it you wonder what the VLSD ever did.

I would love to run Konis this year as well but I just don't have room in the budget. Perhaps I should just go get a job lol I've been ignoring recruiters for about 2 months now.

New exhaust goes on tomorrow. I guess that means I drive around in 6th gear to avoid the fuzz from now on.
