Default Your final cost after purchasing from a us vendor....

So yea...

wanted a ballpark to how much us canadians gets hit with duties/brokerage before I make my final decision on some rims and don't want to get wtf ninja ambushed on the day of arrival.

Note: i'm too lazy to drive down to niagara and use the usaaddressinc so this is for others who have it shipped to their house ^_^

My friends lip + sideskirts $550 shipped from vendor...paid about $200 extra when received with fedex.

the site on that thread doesn't seem to be working anymore. Anyways with UPS/FedEx its about 30% of the final cost.

if available from Tirerack they give you price with duties and shipping. I think they have some deal with UPS. Worth checking out if they have the rim/tires you're thinking about.

Yes they give you the final price, but it's no cheaper than it would have been if they didn't tell you.

QFT,
its a service they provide to customers with corp accounts. All they do is apply the fee's to the shipping cost.

Default Bax Global Shipping

They allow you the option of declaring the package at customs yourself.
You will only be responsible for paying the taxes on the item(s).

Do not ship with Fedex, I got some books from US and shipping is $6.00 which is not bad. but then a month later i got a bill asking for $26.00 for custom, GST(which includes the shipping charge??!) and BS processing fee ($9.00) my books only cost me $20.00.

go with USPS, got a set of rims and tires send from US and no extra chargem deliver right to my door.

FedEx Rates are almost identical to UPS. Whatever the PST and GST is, they will match in brokerage fees. USPS is nice and all, but most of the time you wont get a tracking number and they take forever. It's pretty much a lose-lose situation.

my volks cost 3g's shipped. but the vendor did me a favour and wrote a copy reciept that went with the pacakge for 200 per wheel. in the end i payed peanuts. most vendors ive talked to are willing to do that. then they either mail you the real one, or fax, email whatever.
