I've been looking at doing just that. I've only been looking on the Autotrader (US site) and there's a ton of them depending on how far you are willing to travel, and I'm sure there's just as many waiting to be found from other dealers that maybe don't advertise on the trader, or repossession agencies, etc. Why pay someone else to do the little bit of dirty work involved in bringing it up yourself?

Just a thought
Good point.

I myself do not feel comfortable buying privately or from a small dealership in the US and importing it, but maybe from a Nissan dealership. I have been in contact with two Nissan dealers in Buffalo, I was thinking of saving the extra money they charge and do it myself through the Buffalo dealer. It depends if they can find one for me and how much money I can save by taking the time and doing all the work myself. The dealers here buy them from the US at wholesale, (then mark it up) I would be buying for retail in the US, I would have to balance it out.

Fair enough. As far as I'm concerned it's not a whole lot different for me. The extra savings is worth the risk. Since the Z's warranty will carry over, get one new enough and it's Nissan that has to worry about it

I bought my Z from Quality Auto Wholesalers as well (up on Warden/Lawrence) area...nothing but good things to say. 06 with 2800 miles on it.

The only issues with the used car was the minor paint scuffs which I can live with as they are barely noticeable unless you are standing with your eye right against the paint (yes I am insane I like having everything perfect)

I figure a quick touch up paint job at the end of this season and I will have no complaints at all.

I am guessing that you have never gone into a nissan dealership for warranty work...

Well, no, not Nissan in particular, but every manufacturer has their issues when it comes to warranty claims. None of them want to do it, but they will if you keep on them. Had a GM dealer try to deny a warranty claim on my sunfire when THEY buggered it up. I took it in for an oil change (they gave me a bunch of free ones when I bought the car, ever since I've done it myself) and it came out with this reallly loud rattle noise. The Service dept. manager had the stones to tell me that a little noise from a manual tranny is normal, when the car didn't do it an hour before when i dropped it off. Took them a month and a couple grand in parts, labour, and rental car costs (that they finally agreed to pay) before they finally just put a new tranny in it.

NISSAN - CAR MUST BE REGISTERED IN USA AND MOVED TO CANADA AFTER 6 MONTHS TO MAINTAIN VALID CANADIAN WARRANTY

5290 Orbitor Drive, Mississauga, ON

So as long as the car has been registered for at least 6 months in the USA, it can be transferred to Canada and maintain it's warranty.

^Just an fyi.. Nissan Canada & Nissan North America are two different entities.
In order for Nissan Canada to approve your warranty claims, they need approval from NNA.
Although your vehicle is now in canada, the warranty claims go back to NNA and if they choose to, they can deny everything.

Unfortunately, it wont be the first or last time this is going to happen. Just realize that establishing a solid relationship with a Nissan service manager will do more for you then blind faith in dealer warranty.

Good luck with your purchase.

Good to know. I'm new to the Z scene and if all goes well, I'll hopefully be getting one within the next year. At least they aren't like some companies that flat out void the warranty when you export the car tho, by the sounds of things they'll at least try to work with you.

Default looking for dealer to by an imported US 350z from.. 2nd thread, no delete, open first

I am looking to buy an imported 06ish US 350Z.

This is the 2nd time I posted this tread the 1st thread was removed due to questionable comments made. Possible slander / untrue statements.

Please this time only keep the posted answers short do not give examples or details of the encounter in a post. Only post responses like “I would or would not recommend ------“

If you have heard of, know of, or experienced good or bad things with or about a dealer pm me the details. Only post that you would or would not recommend them.

I am looking for some help from my fellow members but do not wish to have my post deleted again. Also do not discuses about the previous post being deleted in this post. PM me if there is anything else you want to discus with me.

------

I have seen a bunch on trader but none meet the criteria I am after. I have found a few dealerships that said they can get one for me if I leave a deposit and give them a list of what I am looking for and wait a few weeks until it arrives.

My question is, have any of you had dealings with any of these dealers. Bought a car, know someone that has or heard good or bad things about them. The quality of their cars and overall trustworthiness of them?
These are the dealers I have been looking at

Quailty Auto Wholesales -- http://www.autowholesalers.com/web/

Canadian auto associates -- http://www.canadianautoassociates.com/

guelph infiniti Nissan -- http://www.guelphinfinitinissan.com/Used.cfm?

(They have US imported 350s but do not import on a regular bases, so I am unsure if they can locate the car I am looking for)

If I import the car myself (dealers I have been looking into in buffalo)

west her Nissan -- http://westherrnissan.com/

autoplacenissan -- http://www.autoplacenissan.com/index.html

make sure you do not deal with [edited - IB Adrian], tons of horror stories with those guys. i went to deal with them, and all of G's/Z's were in p!ss poor condition, seemed like re-build wrecks or something

EDIT: a friend of mine recently bought a basically brand new MazdaSpeed 3 from Canadian auto associates, and had a pleasant experience with them.

I highly Recommend Canadian Auto Associates. I would post my experience with them for you, but I already did that in the last version of this topic. Maybe if the mods to the right thing and bring it back, you and others can get a better feel in regards to what the company is all about.

For obvious reasons.

(IB Adrian) --

dont be touching that post, theres no questionable comments made, just a recommendation or lack there of.

If we cant have that as a bare minimum this forum is f:c&ed up!!

Are we only aloud to recommend a dealer?? If a certain dealer is not recommend that could have as assume that they are not recommend. But it may only mean that members may not have had experiences with them yet to base an opinion.

We need to be able to post if we do not recommend them as well.

Amazing how the admin here is still trying to edit people's opinions

Like I'd said in the other thread, so much for freedom of speech.

Are you kidding me? Do I see that? Adrian you editted a persons post that warns someone of a possible bad dealership?

Bad dealerships should be known. Also the people here have a right to know, and are old enough to make their own conclusions. Stop censoring us!!!!

Once thing i learned on another forum, is there really is no freedom of speech on these privately owned websites (it is still technically privately owned). The owner has everyright to edit what is posted on here.

It is unfortunate however, when the content that is being edited/deleted could potentially protect future z-owners from a huge $ loss.

I wonder if the set of folks that own this website also own g35driver.com? If not, I would really like to express my feelings about the shady dealership on there instead...
....and if not, I will try one of the other 20 local GTA based car forums that I am on.
