if the car was built before Sept 1,2007, it doesn't matter. So that means all 350Z built before Sept 1, 2007 are allowed, and any built after must have immobilizer.

I hope that makes sense.

Excellent news, this is what I wanted to hear. I will catch you on MSN soon and we will chat more about this car you are looking at buying.

As an update, I called the RIV folks and double checked with them.

If the car is built after Sept 1, 2007, you only have to ensure (and have proof) that the car has an immobilzer.

If it's built before Sept 1, 2007, nothing to worry about (apart from DRLs of course).

You don't even need one from Nissan Corporate. As long as you have a letter on the Nissan dealership's letter head saying that there are no recall campaigns outstanding on the car, you should be good to go.

I'm trying to figure out how to identify the wires.

weeeeeeeeeeee

I did around 1200 kilos this week only showing my cars to friends and to make a show-off of myself.

Was really ez :

1- Went to the bank in Canada to get my 28500$US
2- Declare that money to BOTH sides of the border (US checked all my $ 1 by 1)
3- Bought the car at the dealer
4- Called my insurance in Canada to tell them I bought the car and they gave me a number until I have my pink papers
4- Let the car stand near the Lacolle boarder (Peterbill parking) at 7$ a day
5- Gave the title paper of the car to the US border (72 open hours)
6- Went back to the border and picked-up the car to show to the US border and they gave me back my title with the stamp
7- Passed the Canadian border and went to the office to pay the 100$ + 220$ + 6.1% tx + 7.X% tx
8- Getting the DRL done and going to pass the inspection

That's all I remember for now I may add things later on

EDIT : Don't buy the extended warranty if it's a new car : need to wait to get my refund from nissan (869$)

you can contact Rick at Cambridge Auto - 416-466-5673.
he has a guy who can do the DRL with the parking lights for $150.
He also does the inspection for form 2 so you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Tell him Warren with the red 350z referred you.

Thanks. I'll give him a call.

Also, anyone know how to change the unit of speed shown on the multi-function display? It's in mph, but there must be a way to change it to km/h

I forgot to ask this earlier, but when he performed the DRLs for you, did it cause any engine light to come on or blow any fuses?

Was it a clean install?

Thanks
