Ideally, you should have the car checked out and serviced before you buy it. Ask the dealer you are buying it from if you can take it to the local American Infiniti dealer to have it looked over.
Thanks for the info g35
as I recall, you can't really tell if the car has an OC problem right away is that correct?
you have to go back after a certain mileage and see if the car consumed more oil than it supposed to

Also, depending on how well the car was maintained, you may also be able to ask for the service history to see if the problem was addressed. Try calling Infiniti USA with the VIN of the car to see if it would be in a batch that could have had the problem, or if it was brought in and had the issue addressed.

btw, do you know how to fix up the DRL yourself?
I tried contacting a member here (advanss) but he never replied
if possible, could you write up a step by step how-to for installing DRL
thanks in advance!
yeah that's my issue too, I don't know which wires to tap into. I think they are all located in the fuse box by the driver-side foot-well. However, I do not know the following details:
1. wire that gives signal when the car is on
2. wire that sends power to the parking light
3. power source for the parking light
Also there could be a single wire that could be 3) & 1).
I'm thinking of just giving it to CDN tire. I will ask them if they are familiar with 350Zs.

ok for the DRL this is what my friend did :
1 - remove the bumper
2- remove the headlight
3 - find the slot in the plastic box attached to the headlight that is powering the parkings lights
4- get a wire that will pass from both headlights to the fusebox under the battery compartement. (you will need to remove some plastic around the battery cover too)
I will pass inspection and remove all that after. It's only temporary and I didn't cut any wire.

To those who bought the Zs, did you ahve to perform e-test and safety prior to having it registered in Canada?
I got the inspection done at CDN tire but they claim I need to do e-test and safety before I can get plates for it. Is this true?
The car is a 6 month old '07 with 6k miles on it

So I had the Nissan dealer perform the DRL installation, and they screwed up! The radio backlight does not work anymore (when the car is on) unless I turn on the headlights via the stalk.
So they are taking another look at it.

i ended up taking to the Nissan dealer and they were just as useful (sadly) but cost more.
