Default Installed 06 headlights now no DRL

Hey guys,

I just installed 06 headlights in my 05 Z and when I turn the car on, there's no DRL.

I bought the lights from someone in the US, is that the reason why?

You want to send a PM to IvoryGT over the G35Driver. He's the headlight expert and will be able to help you out.

Yea I kinda knew that US headlights didn't have DRL but I thought that changing to 06 headlights was only changing the housing and that it wouldn't affect the DRL on the car.

Thanks lowrider, I'll PM IvoryGT to get some more info

pop the hood, get a hammer then proceed to hammer your own lights. Once everything is broken take it out with alot of force since it won't matter anyways. Remember to unscrew the screw first

put on your new lights then screw the screw back on.

Too much detail, I got lost.

Currently holding hammer....not sure what to do.

Cliff notes to your excellent DIY please

You wouldn't want DRL with the 06+ headlights because it will be the same as your low beam. That means your HID will always be on once you release the parking brake.

I have been trying to find out how to disable the DRL on a Canadian 06+ Z because I don't like my HID to be always on and I have no control over it.

But so far, I don't think anyone can do it yet.

Which wiring are you using? the Wiring harness that came with the 06 lights or are you still using your previous wiring?
