Default First time at track: 5 spin-outs, 2 black flags, 2 track closures, 1 blown engine

.. and I got hit by an old lady on the way to the track.

WOW.

What a day. That was the most fun I've had in a looongg time. You guys can definitely count me in as someone who'll be racing until the day they die. I'm absolutely in love and can't stop thinking about it. Sorry for messing up the track and all though... But ok, time to get back on the road! Anyone know a good shop to do an engine swap and/or a good place to buy a used engine? How much should I expect to pay for both? Oh and more details here:

Hahah dude, I saw you! My gf looked in the rear-view and said there's a guy behind us in a black 350 that looks like he's from the Sopranos. LMAO!

I think maybe oil? It's been burning a ton of it lately. It's been having problems for the past year or so. This was probably the straw that broke the camel's back.

Man, this is why I don't track my car. I've become more and more tempted by other people inviting me, but this put me back to my original belief.
I used to track when I had a 240SX, but the cost of a motor was $200 tops, and I could swap it myself for free. Hell, the cost of a whole chassis was under 2 grand, and I could swap over all my mods if I totalled it

Well he said there was already something wrong with his engine and had problems with oil burning.. I always check my oil level before I go and leave the track..

with that being said you should come to the next track day in october.. =)..

Somebody.. I just slapped on some old tires on the nismo but its a lot better than the old ones.. And no more hopping.. Car is a lot more stable now wit the coilover but could be better.. I think I'm gonna change the suspension set up next year as the tein basics isn't really that great for the track but good enough..still much better than stock.

Honest to god, I had so much fun that I'll keep doing it even if I have to work just to pay my bills for this hobby. It's that good.

Oh, I know how much fun it is, but this is not a car I'm prepared to ever break. I'll likely go back to it as soon as I somehow justify owning a 3rd car

This is why I just bought a 240z.

I plan to make it into a BRE replica...and it is what I will be taking to the track.

Blowing the engine on my 350z would give me a heart attack lol.

A 240Z to track?? I guess we have different standards haha. A 240Z to me is a collector car, that I'd cruise on Sundays in, definitely not beat on or endanger in any way. There's also the fact that unless heavily updated (which lots of people do), the car is rather... primitive in terms of suspension, brakes and chassis stiffness.
