I sure do much easier to get up a hill and turn w/o understeering so much. I only turn it on when i'm getting sleepy

I have a base so I don't have a choice. However I haven't had any problems.

I'm the most skilled granny Z driver there is on this forums...though there are slow prospects coming up. Two black Zs i gotta battle for the King Granny Driver title. I openly challenge anyone to see who can get to the next light the slowest.

Getting rolling can be a ***** with it on at times but once moving taking a turn could send you spinning out of control with it off, in the snow that is. Must be very cautious. Saved me once or twice for sure. The thought of keeping it off seems crazy to me.

You're a bigger idiot and should be banned for such comments.

Jon, I never had VDC on when I drove in winter, as long as you got good winter tires, it's fine. You've seen me drive the Z in winter, no problem. Even that one week when I had to drive with summer tires on snow. Still kept VDC off.

+1 I don't even know what traction control or VDC feels like

i'm from much further south. if you're used to VDC you become dependent on it. which i admit i've experienced driving my G35. my skills actually get worse using it everyday! lol my drift car has a 2 way locking diff and no such thing as ABS or VDC. the best measure against loss of control is judgement. you have to judge the terrain ahead and determine if the car will hold a certain angle (drift or grip lol) and if you can clip the apex at the speed you are going. one rally driving trick i've seen makinen do on video on snow and ice is to wiggle the wheel (if you're going straight) from side to side about 3" to see if the front wheels grip or slip. that way you can determine the speed, gear, line, etc you want to take the next corner. if you're getting tired, its better to have it on and just go slow and take the safe way lol.

anyway, i turn off my VDC when making a turn from a complete stop. the traction control cutting power can be a bit unnerving when trying to accelerate and traffic is catching up to you...

lol i found the 350z easier to drive in winter which had a welded diff and more power and a lot stiffer but then agian both are summer cars o wellz nismo rims > winter beater car lol.

I actually spent some money on some decent winter tires cuz i almost got screwed over by the vdc plowing straight while trying to turn.

I like to drive my car I'm not a fan of me getting driven by my car.

btw heres some winter style driving in dry. A lot easier in winter
