Any 2003-2006 Z owners in Ontario ever had this passenger front airbag on/off switch installed at a Nissan dealership?
The purpose of this switch is to be able to turn Off the passenger front airbag so you can put a child with a car seat in the front passenger seat.
I know the switch kit is about $500+ and with the installation by Nissan dealer, it will cost at least $1000.
Thanks.

Not to be an *** or anything but is it a good idea to put a baby in this kind of car? From an impact standpoint I always thought it was safer to have children/babies in a rear seat location.
Once again I don't know your situation and I am trying to stay as PC as possibly.

To pay $500 for the switch and then have the dealer install it, wow.
I found a good switch here http://www.airbagonoff.com/
It has some circuits to keep the airbag light off even when you turn the airbag off.
Some just put a switch on the power but then you have the light come on and stay on even when you turn the power back on.
The switch is a couple of hundred and then have a shop that does alarms and other electronics in cars do the install. They might charge 4 hours to do it as it doesn't look too complicated.
What you need before installing it is to send a request in to get a letter that allows you to disable the airbag. Go here to read up on this and to get the form http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/tp/tp13178/menu.htm
I received the form back in about 3-4 weeks. I still have not had time to install the switch but intend to do it this spring.

So did you end up ordering the switch from www.airbagonoff.com? If so, how much did it cost? I couldn't find the price in their website.
When I removed my passenger seat the air bags were disabled. When I reinstalled the seat it was still disabled. Had the dealer fix it because the air bag light kept flashing. Not sure if disconnecting the battery would have solved the issue or not. I'm thinking the passenger side air bag is weight sensitive.

Chebosto put up a DIY when he was installing his seats and steering wheel.
So I finally got around to install the switch.
It was very easy to do, 6 wire hookup.
So if you ave any experience with mobile electronics you can do this.
The switch comes with detailed instructions that are easy to follow.
It does what it is supposed to do, shut off the airbag without triggering the SRS light.
If anyone needs more information about how to do it just let me know.

Great, sounds like a DIY. I will ask you if I need help installing it.
Now that you have the switch installed, you are suppose to send the "Declaration of Requirement for Air Bag Deactivation" form to Transport Canada. For the last section, it asks for the vehicle dealer or service tech info and their signature. I guess if you DIY, do you just sign it yourself too?
I have an on-off switch with no instructions.
I would like to get that from you if possible...
