Default Driving a Roadster in the Winter?

I have been doing many search both in the General section and in this regional sections, I see a few Z's driving in the winter. Are you driving your Z this winter? Have you driven the Z in the winter. My only concern is how good is a Z up a hill with a good set of New Winter tires?

had only one problem last winter...freezing rain roads up hill As long as you're easy on the gas from a stop then you have no problem.

The Z drives fine in the winter with proper snow tires. In terms of driving up a hill (the biggest challenge for a RWD car in the winter), I would rate it on par with my wifes Ford Focus which has skinny all season tires. Of course, handling and braking is much better with the snow than any car with all season tires.

Here is a shameless plug for my snow tires for sale. You would be looking at double this price if you go to a tire shop.

Thanks for the info. I have my OEM rims, and will be looking at a set of new tires.

I have always been a fan of winters even with my front wheel drive cars. Wouldn't have it any other way. I guess it would be weekly car washes to wash away the salt. Thanks for the advice.

Driving a Z in the winter :'( , noooooo

Anyways, slap some snow tires on any car and it will handle fine in the winter. Your only issue is going to be ground clearance of course, better hope any driveway you are going in and out of is always nice and clean! I think you'll hear a lot of crunching and scraping lol.

Only time my car has seen snow was last year, there was less then 1 mm of snow/ice on the ground and it was really hard to drive with my old bald bfg kdw2's lol, yet i still drove to and from school, just took it really slow and payed attantion to the traction (no vdc, my foot is my vdc) Thank god there was no salt on the road at that time, didnt want any kind of unnecessary damage occurring underneath the car.

Any who its possible, yet i cant say how easy it is on the winters (havent tried and dont think i will) but if i managed to drive on bald summers, winter tires should be a piece of cake.

z's are meant for summers =) get a 500$ beater for the winter.

I've driven on both summer and winter tires on snow.

Winter tires - never got stuck even going uphill. Didn't even have to try hard. Never had a problem. VDC off

Summer tires - still managed to get around. I only got stuck at a parking lot because it had a nice uphill incline to exit to the road... VDC off. But EXTREME patience is required (super long braking distance) and must ignore all the honking from people behind you for accelerating so slow. I'm never doing that again though.

i put nokian snows on last year and it was the best thing ive ever driven in the snow. Tires are everything and nokians are the best snows hands down. Got a beater for this year so the tires are for sale. Cant put the new monoflex coilovers through a canadian winter.
