Default Installing 06+ Headlights on an 03

Anyone ever done it before? Is it much of a challenge? I haven't been able to find a DIY anywhere, I might just be blind though.

Thanks.

LOOOOTSSS OF PEOPLE HAVE DONE THIS, and allmost everyone i know wants too.

Watch out for people giving you **** for asking this questions. There are lots of threads on this and you should have found it in a search. People will tell you to use the search button. I got this allot when I was new.

i upgraded mine from a 04 set to a 06 set, they were plug and play. Some people say that the turning signal bulb is on all of the time, if so you can just cut the wire. (read up on this if you need to) I didnt have to do it because the light did not always come on. They work just like my 04 set except I do not have day time running lights anymore. Plug and play install, very easy.

Hope that helps

Basically what I want to know is what parts I need to install the headlights, and what parts I can use from the old headlights. All the threads I've found from searching aren't very specific, and only include small details. The best I've found is this and it doesn't really help me.

I know a ton of people have done it, and that's why I posted. I figured I'd confirm it before I dumped abunch of money on ebaying a set of headlights not knowing what I'm doing.

Re-read the post above you for your answer.

Buy 06+ headlights, unplug your headlights, plug in the 06+, and sell your old headlights on the forum

if you buy a complete 06-08 set then it is plug and play.

Also some of the internals are interchangeable, the ballast and bulb wire can be used in both. The rear plastic cap and bulb are different.

I was able to find a 06 set, just the housings. I already had a aftermarket bulb in my 04 set that was compatible with both styles. I transferred the bulb, bulb wires and ballast to the 06 set. I had to buy a new plastic cap from the dealer, $8 each. Then it was plug and play. They I sold my 04 housing to another member.

Hope that helps
